About this deal

Don’t worry if you see crystals forming on your lip butter it’s a totally normal, natural result of the waxes and oils in the product. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a lip balm that is moisturizing, has a really yummy scent and flavor, and leaves a glossy shine with a really nice light pinkish-red tint that makes your lips look really healthy and moisturized! In cosmetics, it’s often in products that are supposed to keep your skin matte as it has great oil-absorbing abilities. It doesn’t leave a major purple tint, it’s just a tiny bit of color and it’ll most likely blend in with your lips and just make them look shiny.

This smell reminds me more of a satsuma peel rather than the orange itself (not a bad thing) and is very shimmery - so probably not one (as a guy) that I would wear out. I have tried three different ones, Watermelon, Raspberry and Strawberry, and they all smell wonderful. As I mentioned in my review of the Tokyo Milk Dark Salted Caramel lip elixir, for a while I didn’t like lip balms that you had to apply with your finger. The latter one, the humectant property, is surprising and comes from the unique property of ricinoleic acid (the dominant fatty acid in castor oil) having an extra water-loving -OH group on its otherwise oil-loving fatty chain. The former one is common for oils and waxes and it means that it sits on top of the skin hindering water to evaporate out of the top layers. My personal opinion for this lip balm is that it keeps my lips moisturized and hydrated for ample time and gives my lips a natural, nourishing and sheer finish.

Anita Roddick’s philosophies, her ideas were revolutionary and her passion has made this brand recognized all over the world. Last but by no means least, our pocket-friendly powerhouse, Shea Lip Butter – enriched with Community Fair Trade shea butter goodness. I was really upset when I first applied this and my lips (which are naturally dry and VERY prone to chapping) didn’t show any signs of moisturisation at all. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. You can simply apply it by using your fingers, which I know sounds a bit unhygienic, but unless it’s only you using it and your fingers are all clean, then it’s fine. Similar to other plant oils, it's loaded with nourishing and moisturizing fatty acids: it's a high linoleic acid oil (70%) and has only smaller amounts of oleic acid (11%) ( this might be great for acne-prone skin). The problem with linalool is, that just like limonene it oxidises on air exposure and becomes allergenic. It has polyphenols including anthocyanins and ellagitannins that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
