Once the robot has learned your space and you have labelled your rooms, your Smart Map also enables you to clean a room, multiple rooms, or an entire level of your home all from the iRobot HOME App. Once it started, the first thing that struck me was how noisy it is in operation, with a mechanical whirring sound and a spinning sweeper that combine (especially on hard flooring) to overpowering effect. That said, even if you run your Roomba i7+ daily, that adds up to a rather tiny operating cost every two to three months.

You don’t have any contact with the house dust anymore (except when you wash out the mobile dust container). For example, if you spill some cereal in the kitchen, you can request that the i7+ head straight over and clean up around the kitchen table. It did get caught on a power cable at one point, but that kind of thing can happen to any robot vacuum cleaner.
