About this deal

With a manufacturing quality primarily up to the sum to pay, Vortex Race 3 comes with great features for everyone, especially in terms of on-the-fly changes to the layout. The RGB lighting is beautiful and customizable (though I personally don't mind the lack of shine-through keycaps). If you’re looking for more portable and compact mechanical keyboards, check out our TKL or 65% list. The good thing is that the DSA keycaps mean you can easily swap keycaps around to match these without worrying about sculpting or a keycap's top curvature. The manual was a bit lacking, and while the RBG exists, I haven't figured out how to configure it yet.

The layout is just right; unlike most 60% keyboards I'm not finding myself routinely using layers or function keys. Vortex Race 3 Mechanical Keyboard | Mechanical Keyboards | Custom Layout Mechanical Keyboards | Drop Drop requires JavaScript to work, but it is disabled in your web browser. I did hear about Cherry having revamped their production facilities recently, and if this is representative of current batches, I am all for it. These solder peaks are spaced far away from each other owing to the keyboard's layout and should, as such, not be an issue. The use of various materials allows a suitable containment of noise pollution, even on a noisy switch of nature like the MX Blue is. Documentation is poor, changing settings is a pain and unintuitive, some of the directions are just wrong. causes some problems as far as I remember), and it should be in already running machine bottom right small USB devices menu, not in the properties of the VM.All this is a result of the 75% keyboard form factor not really being a standard, which has companies take the liberty to do as they deem fit. Also, the micro-USB included with my keyboard never worked, so I have to take points off regarding that. Screw in aluminum feet, complete with rubber bumpers, can be used to place the mechanical keyboard at an angle. The retail keyboard in its first iteration will not have LEDs on all the switches, though, which makes their translucency a moot point.
