I already have the second volume so I'm sure I'll read it but I really can't recommend this, no matter how elaborate the Dedede expressions. Now, my brother tells me that this is likely a classic "gag" manga, but I'll be honest, if this is what goes for a gag in Japan, then I don't want to read any more.They span the 25 volumes of Kirby’s manga from 1992 to 2006 with a special chapter drawn by Hikawa from 2017. In Chapter 1 of the Japanese orginal version, Kirby consumes a drink with a label that reads 「酒」 which means "alcohol. When he’s not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam likes to report on the latest Nintendo news and admire his library of video games. Regardless of how limiting it would make crafting short stories around him, you might expect a Kirby manga to maintain the character’s propensity for baby talk, which has been a staple of his characterization throughout the games. This Kirby is a mischievous elementary schooler, like the ones who read his stories while they were being published.

People don't want to hear this, but despite being such a beloved series, Zelda games have always sold pretty modestly until very recently. It was another gag-filled manga, which it clearly states on the back, however I was not expecting it to be like this, very similar to the Animal Crossing manga. It was published in English as Kirby Manga Mania by Viz Media, with the first volume being published on June 8, 2021. Kirby’s “ mouthful mode”in the new Forgotten Lands might have served as a mainstream audience’s introduction to how nightmarish Kirby’s anatomy can be, but the void of Kirby’s mouth looking back into your soul is true torment. While it may be different from the games the 1st manga volume brings a lot of charm to the characters with some good translation Kirby's still cute and Dedede is well.Hikawa’s gag abilities are sharp, and the pages are loaded with jokes, most of which are character-driven and therefore translate perfectly well for English-speaking, Western audiences (not always the case with humor manga).
