That these easter eggs are meaningless and even befuddling to new readers might make sense in terms of costs and benefits. It’s a riveting read, that had me eager to see where the plot was going, even if it meant staying up all night to do it. Seconds' is an enjoyable instalment in the Women's Murder Club series however it is not my favourite. I think the same could be said about the female crime-solvers at the center of his action-packed books.
