By the time I finished the deck, I had discovered how to appreciate the lesson of each card and allow the energy surface without fear. When I created the Crow Tarot, I felt it was essential to work within the parameters of tradition concerning symbolism as I was using the creative process also to teach myself the Tarot. The crows in the Crow Tarot are incredibly clever birds —they know when you are serious and when you are merely using them for validation. It’s funny, I don’t normally shuffle cards and wait for one to fly out as my selection method but it seems to happen a lot with this deck even though I don’t find it difficult to shuffle. The suites do have a different name whereas the Rider-Waite-Smith deck has Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles representing the elements, this deck uses the elements as the suite names: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. To clear a new deck or to clean a deck that has some negative energy build-up, I start by washing the cards.For example the King and Queen of Cups have crescent moons and the King and Queen of Wands have the lions. The pages show crows engaging with their suit symbol, the Knights all incorporate horses, and the Kings and Queens all feature crowns with the pairs have something that shows they’re linked.
