About this deal

The two strands will run in tandem, their narrative arcs mirroring each other to make the parallels between the two stories abundantly clear to the less able listener.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. Mostly, though, the book revels in a series of set pieces that ably showcase Partridge as he always was, and ever shall be: a perennially foot-in-mouth oaf incapable of seeing the tragedy of himself quite as clearly as everyone else does. It's like Dr who having all these millions of additional audio adventures where for some reason he sounds ancient, then he goes back to sounding normal again for, eg.Sign our petition to keep people in their homes Urgent action is needed to prevent even more people being pushed into homelessness. A secure home is the first step in addressing the cruel cycle of poverty to ensure people can fulfil their potential.

Although it’s treading a lot of ground that will be familiar to fans of the character (the ending of a career in television, the renovation of a property) it manages to put a fresh spin on it, helped along beautifully by Partridge’s ideas of a clever structure and literary devices. I think he had his vocal idiosyncrasies during the Iannucci era but it was more mispronunciations - "Draclea", "Nesquilk" and the like. This is a decent length - not the finest work and certainly no Nomad - but decent enough and I enjoyed it.

Alan Partridge is publishing a third volume of memoirs, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal. Partridge himself is hardly an arbiter on who is, and who isn’t, a prime candidate for cancellation, which of course makes his obsession all the funnier. Maybe a brand new character or even a different genre would reignite the magic that has made Steve so great in the past. He also spends some time in Qatar with disgraced former Sky TV football pundit Richard “Hairy Hands” Keys.

Big Beacon employs a straightforward dual narrative technique, which Partridge naturally regards as an innovation (he spends most of the prologue needlessly explaining how it works). Alan Partridge is one of Britain's favourite and most decorated unemployed broadcasters - although he does have a podcast. Once the star and lead presenter of Mid Morning Matters on North Norfolk Digital and This Time on BBC1, he is now not those things, but is perfectly happy and comfortably off. Alan has to be given credit for his forward thinking, this really is a game changer for the written word and has to be considered for the Booker prize. The character has stuck around for three decades, embedded phrases like “monkey tennis” and “Jurassic Park! Another Oasthouse coming next year too, I can listen to Partridge now pretty much all day and never get bored!
