As well as this, the actor has also starred in Misfits, The Dirt, Barbarians, Y Golau, and Vicious. Sacha Dhawan as Honey As the bogus detectives, Iwan Rheon and Sacha Dhawan attempt to be comic. It is self-consciously odd, including a dance scene in the final episode (available on iPlayer). Gallagher even throws in a nod to Doctor Who, because Dhawan appeared in that show as the Master. This isn’t really the place for in-jokes. a b c Billingham, Mark (2 August 2021). "Mo Hayder obituary". The Guardian . Retrieved 2 August 2021. Not wanting to reveal any more about the plot than necessary, all I can say is that Oliver Anchor-Ferrers has been involved in a top secret arms project involving a missile called the Wolf, and that Lucia had a personal attachment to one of the teenagers murdered so brutally all those years ago. That’s all you’re getting, because with the gasp-inducing and clever twists, turns and reveals of the plot, I will not spoil the fun! The sheer claustrophobia and terror aroused in the lives of this family by this intrusion is devilishly well played out, and enough to send a chill down the spine of even the most hardened of crime readers. I particularly enjoyed the knowing nature of an account of the hostage situation written in secret by Oliver to a detective of his own imagination. You’ll see why, and how, but when you think you have it all sussed, prepare to be wrong-footed. Possibly more than once. After a brief marriage to Gary Olsen she emigrated at 25 to Japan [6] [7] where she became a teacher of English as a foreign language in Tokyo. [6] She was also a waitress at a nightclub and an amateur filmmaker. [6] Writing career [ edit ]

Her fellow authors praised her as a writer who pushed the limits of the crime genre with her terrifying thrillers. We have never worked together before but we just hit it off and it's been great considering when you see them on screen they don't really like each other. Well, Honey doesn’t really like Molina at all. It’s been a real joy to play around and just explore these scenes. We had a bit of freedom to switch things up a little bit so there's been times when it's been unpredictable and instinctive and we both kind of just go along with it. I was totally absorbed from the start. Bloody, intriguing, twisty and fast-paced.' -- ***** Reader review Meanwhile, over in Monmouthshire in an isolated mansion (again, aren’t they all?), it all goes a bit the Funny Games when the wealthy Anchor-Ferrers are interrupted by two men, and the family find themselves “the victims of a psychopath’s cruel games, trapped and terrorised.” Meanwhile, Sian Reese-Williams ( Line Of Duty, Hidden) stars DI Maia Lincoln, a woman with a case to prove, Juliet Stevenson is Mathilda Anchor-Ferrers, an intelligent yet neurotic wealthy housewife, with Owen Teale ( Game Of Thrones) as her wealthy and well-connected husband Oliver. Annes Elwyplays their daughter Lucia Anchor-Ferrers.

When I first read the script, I read all six episodes in a day – I just couldn’t put them down. As I was reading, I would be thinking “I really want to play that scene” and then I’d read the next one and think the same. When I got to episode five, I read this particular scene and I just instantly thought, “right, I’m in”. I’ve been looking to play a different kind of character and I just loved Molina’s journey. It’s been nice to do the comedy, stupidity and lightness of him. Matilda is an upper middle class woman from a wealthy family. Her and her husband, Oliver, have two children. The son, who isn't present in the story, is a bit of a big success story which probably means a lot to this family as it seems there’s likely been pressure to be successful in this family. Their daughter, Lucia, who in worldly terms has been less successful and is very troubled. From when we first meet them in the car in the first scene, there is a lot of history and delicate references to the troubles that they’re bringing with them. The dark, sadistic character revels in torture, subjecting his captives to a series of mind games – a role that will prove familiar to Rheon. Bestselling and prize winning author Mo Hayder has expertly crafted an authentically disturbing, gripping, unsettling and engrossing thriller in Wolf. Perfect for fans of Stephen King, Stuart MacBride and Karin Slaughter, this is one novel you won't be able to put down...This role has been a challenge as you’re normally given a character and you explore who they are and how the story changes them. With this one, they go into such an extreme situation right at the beginning that they’re always in a nightmarish and extremist situation. So you don’t get to know Matilda as she might be on a day-to-day or casual basis. A little girl finds a dog with a note in it's collar saying "help me" and so begins Mo Hayder's most chilligly terrifying novel to date.
