About this deal

The second novel in the Hannibal series, The Silence of the Lambs, once again features Dr. Lecter helping out the FBI from within his cell. This time, though, he works with a young FBI agent-in-training, Clarice Starling. Starling tries one last time to get information from Lecter as he is held in police custody. He offers a final clue—"we covet what we see every day"—and demands to hear her worst memory. Starling reveals that, after her father's death, she was sent to live with a cousin on a sheep and horse ranch. One night, she discovered the farmer slaughtering the spring lambs, and fled in terror with a mare also destined for the slaughterhouse whom she named Hannah. The farmer caught her and sent her to an orphanage, where she spent the rest of her childhood, though her efforts did result in Hannah being spared. Lecter, seeing the parallels between the helpless lambs and the equally helpless Catherine, thanks her for her candor, and the two share a brief moment of connection before Chilton forces her to leave. Shortly after this, Lecter escapes by killing and eviscerating his guards, using one of their faces as a mask to fool paramedics.

Due to the implications of the tragedies he had experience in the past; his psychopathic behaviour never departed his mind. Combined with his stature and knowledge of being a psychiatrist, he still continued to kill people and eating them after. He is not just seeking revenge but also executing his so called “judgement” on other people that doesn’t treat him nicely. He performs cannibalism in all his victims. Lecter rescues the wounded Starling and takes her to his rented house on the Chesapeake shore to treat her, subjecting her to a regimen of psychoactive drugs in the course of therapy sessions to help her heal from her childhood trauma and her pent-up anger at the injustices of the world. He considers whether his long-dead younger sister Mischa may somehow be able to live again through Starling. One day, he invites her to a formal dinner where the guest and first course is Krendler, whose brain they consume together. On this night, Starling refuses to let her personality be subsumed, telling Lecter that Mischa's memory can live within him. She then offers him her breast, and they become lovers.

The second appearance of Hecter was on the novel Silence of the Lambs where he assisted an FBI agent in catching a known serial killer. Silence of the Lambs was also a novel by Thomas Harris which was first published in 1988. The novel also featured Lecter along with special agent Clarice Starling. This novel was awarded by Bram Stoker Award as Best Novel in 1988 and was also nominated on 1989 as World Fantasy Award. Hecter also appeared on the novel Hannibal. He was portrayed as a museum curator and had an alias of Dr. Fell. Lecter does not pertain to a certain individual or specific person as Red Dragon stated. Lecter is a pure psychopath as claimed on the movie The Silence of the Lambs; however, he was regarded as a sociopath on the novel version. He was traumatized in Lithuania in 1944 when he witnessed a tragic death of his beloved younger sister, Mischa, by murder and cannibalism. A witness also says that Lecter abruptly ate his sister as well. His addiction to pathology grew after this event. Instead, Brian Cox’s Lektor is just an unsexy, evil, son of a bitch. He kills, he is sadistic, he enjoys tormenting Will.

After Starling leaves, Lecter reminisces on the past, recalling a conversation with Benjamin Raspail, a former patient whom he had eventually murdered. During therapy sessions, Raspail told Lecter about a former lover, Jame Gumb: After Raspail left Gumb and began dating a sailor named Klaus, Gumb became jealous and murdered Klaus, using his skin to make an apron. Raspail also revealed that Gumb had an epiphany upon watching a butterfly hatch. Preston, Douglas (July–August 2006). "The Monster of Florence". The Atlantic. Boston, Massachusetts: Emerson Collective . Retrieved March 26, 2017. Will I say it was a good ending? Nope. A reasonable ending? Nope. A plausible finality to the trilogy? Hell no. If “Hannibal” was pie, cannibal Clarice was the fluffy and completely superfluous whip cream.

Lecter has a sister named Mischa who was born in 1939. As siblings, they formed a strong and affectionate bond. Their family left their estate to live somewhere in the forest to escape a friend. Three years later, little did they know, their family died in a war by a German Bomber attempting to disable a Soviet tank. They were later on held as captive and hostage by the looters. Mischa was cannibalized and Lecter managed to escape his death but he was extremely traumatized by his sister’s death and became mute. Lecter has a strong faith in God before but was later shattered by the even. Thereafter, he really believed that there was no real justice in this world.
