As to why this is actually happening only in Spotify I'm uncertain and would have to take wild guesses. I would HIGHLY recommend trying to get the budget for a Schiit Fulla or Fiio K3, that or just run onboard audio, it's far superior. Q4 has been welcomed by the majority of users since its listing, buy the best gaming DAC on a limited budget and bring you HiFi enjoyment. What customers like most are that Q4 not only has HiFi sound quality but also has high and low bass adjustment buttons. After installing, it does not behave differently to other DACs I have used in the past with Windows. A handy factor to have on your headphone amp will be full control over your music. This won’t only include a volume dial or knob that you can use to adjust the volume. Headphone amps that also allow you to adjust the bass and treble independently of one another will help you to enjoy the finer aspects of your favorite music. You can easily adjust the sound to suit your needs.
In my opinion this is more than enough for most headphones, as demonstrated by it easily ‘correcting’ the notorious SA3000. The Behringer Microamp HA400 is an excellent budget friendly option. Let’s talk about one last negative before moving to the positives, getting all the bad news out of the way at once. In the case of planar magnetic headphones, at least the ones I have on hand, the K5 Pro does struggle. It is to be expected as it is powered by USB and I doubt that there is much in the way of current going on, but as soon as things like the HE400se are pushed with some strong and fast bass, you can tell that this little amp is struggling to keep up. Please change the power supply adaptation and retest; why? Because of the aging of the power supply, there may be an abnormal power supply resulting in white noise. We recommend using the PC-USB port/5V power adapter to power it.I think this is neither a good thing or a bad thing – you only have to ask yourself how much does this matter to you on a unit that comes with it’s own tone controls. Personally, it matters little. Also, the minimum bass volume seems to introduce some artefacts, however at this greatly reduced volume, you likely wouldn’t hear any of those artefacts anyway. Therefore, when Fosi reached out recently and asked if I would be interested in trying out and possibly reviewing any of their products, I said that I would be interested in giving the K5 Pro a whirl and seeing what they could offer in this budget priced category. Those who know the SA3000 are aware that is is a detail and treble-monster with a rather weak bass response. Correcting those ‘flaws’ to my taste on the K5 Pro was so simple and brought my SA3000 to another level of enjoyment. Another handy feature of this particular headphone amp is that it can also be used with speakers to boost sound quality. So if you want to boost the quality of your sound when watching your favorite movies and shows, or even when you’re playing your favorite games. This makes it the perfect fit for you if you want to use your new amp to boost several devices in your home. The rubber feet are a nice addition that I wasn’t expecting on a product at this price point, however they didn’t prevent the unit from sliding around on my glass monitor stand base, but I still greatly appreciate the scratch protection.
It’s a really well thought out selection of inputs, outputs and functionality to get anyone started on their audio journey. All in all, I think that the Fosi K5 Pro is a very interesting device for its price and, although it may not be outstanding just on the audio front, it offers a lot of options for those who are looking for a cheap, compact, all in one device for their desktop.I want to thank Fosi audio for the sample of the K5 pro, as always this is my opinion on it and I've not been paid or influenced by anything other than the music. It’s worth bearing in mind that this may be dependent on the price of your chosen model. Some of the cheaper models don’t offer this level of sound control. However, you shouldn’t shell out for the most expensive model you find. If you want this greater level of sound control over your music, you should take a look at the Fosi Audio Q4. Balanced audio
And finally, due to the small size of the unit, some might find that it is impossible to turn the control knobs without raising the unit off it’s resting surface.
