The Wild Country Zephyros Compact 1 Tent is the perfect shelter for solo adventurers seeking lightweight and dependable protection in the wilderness. Despite the snug nature, my partner and I could quite happily lie and read books, or play small travel games after sunset without too many contortions, but it’s not really a tent to hang out in. Horizontal activities only, so I suggest practicing your yoga before trying anything too romantic. The tunnel design of the tent also means it's more stable in high wind as the air can pass more freely over the top (it also means you get a better nights sleep). If I wasn't too fussed about the weight and didn't mind the extra faff of getting the banshee nicely pegged out I would probably take the banshee. The only other change I made was to carry a small length of guyline attached to a small light plastic clothes peg. This was used to keep the outer door open if good weather as there is no toggles or anything to do this, so the door just flaps about when open unless I am using the awning method.Lol.

There is room to sit up inside and store gear and cook undercover – though care is needed with the latter (a low profile stove is best). Short poles at each end lift the flysheet a little for better headroom when lying down and also aid stability. The inner tent has a half mesh door and mesh panels at each end for ventilation. There’s no vent on the flysheet though so if the door zip has to be fully closed moist air can’t escape. Separation between the inner and outer is good though so avoiding condensation on the flysheet isn’t difficult.

Day two, we took to Glen Feshie with lots of stream and river crossings, bog and more hike-a-bike but it’s a very pretty place to spend time in.
