Kirkman, Robert( w), Adlard, Charlie( p),Adlard, Charlie (inker, cover), Cliff Rathburn (gray tones, cover colors)( i), Wooton, Rus( let)."Made To Suffer" The Walking Dead,vol.8,no.48(April 2, 2008).Berkeley, California: Image Comics. This was something completely different to what I expected, but in a good way. It was quite refreshing seeing the prison life from the inside, whether this is close to the reality or not. So far, my favourite from Lynda La Plante. This book is what the title suggests it's our authors experience of working at a Governor in Wormwood Scrubs prison in the UK .

The Secret Prison Governor: The Brutal Truth of Life Behind Bars The Secret Prison Governor: The Brutal Truth of Life Behind Bars

Author, Vanessa Frake, was a prison officer at two of the UK’s most notorious prisons in her career spanning some 27 years, eventually attaining the rank of Governor. Wormwood Scrubbs features in a lot of British crime fiction and crime TV/movies. It was a Category B prison (a lot of bad guys, but not the worst of the worst who go to a Class A prison). I am trying to find the words that would do this justice, (no pun intended) but I am not sure I am going to be able too, so I will just have to say this is exceptional memoir of Vanessa Frake, MBE, and her career within the prison service. I did find her narration slightly irritating at times, she obviously did very well in her career and is unshy of saying so and not afraid of telling you her many successes but then I told myself she has every right to be after what she has done/seen/endured and achieved, still at times it wears thin Kirkman, Robert; Bonansinga, Jay (2012). The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor. New York City: St. Martin's Griffin. ISBN 978-1250008398.Her first TV series as a scriptwriter was the six part robbery series Widows, in 1983, in which the widows of four armed robbers carry out a heist planned by their deceased husbands. As with all of the books I’ve read by Lynda la Plante, the book is so well written, I feel like I’m there standing at Helen Hewitts side!
