The off the cuff jabs between Charlie and Becca were hilarious and entertaining and the misadventures they had while fulfilling Ally’s wishes were THE BEST. I won’t spoil it for you, but getting gin drunk on a tour trolley sounds like my kind of party!! Additionally I may be trading in the one bed trope for the one tent trope…just saying ;-) I thought the concept of the book was interesting but I wasn’t quite sure it was going to work for me, personally. The relationship I have with my friends and their partners I believe would preclude what happens in this book ever being possible for me. However, the author really managed to sell it to me over the course of the novel, so she deserves great kudos for making the plot convincing to a skeptic like me. Just WOW. I'm not sure what I was expecting - but Ten Years exceeded my expectations and then some. Ten Years is the ultimate enemies to lovers read. With so much animosity between them, and so many unexpected twists and turns, I could not work out if or when Becca and Charlie would finally hit it off. These two were sizzling, in so many ways.

I went in knowing this would be the usual enemies to falling in love story. However, the characters in my opinion had such growth over the course of the story. I enjoyed seeing their growth and finding their way to each other. I have read some incredible works, but this story will give you one of the greatest book hangover you will ever come by. I really cannot recommend this book enough. What sets Ten Years apart from other romantic comedies is its exploration of grief and loss. The death of Ally, their shared best friend, is a constant presence throughout the book, and the characters' struggles to come to terms with their loss are touching and relatable. i>CW: Death of a partner/best friend/child from cancer, infidelity (not involving the MC’s relationship), parental abandonment.
