Niamh is an engaging main character and I loved seeing London through her eyes as a tourist. I also loved the side characters of Jess and her mum Ruth, both of whom added further depth to the story. Entertaining and menacing in equal measure, and loaded with cliff-hangers and red herrings, this accomplished debut brings old school Point Horror novels to mind.

But the ending was still good. We find out why x is doing all this. Why they have done it for so long. And yes, I don’t approve, but I cannot help to feel a bit of the heartstrings being tugged. I also loved that we get a bit after all the scary bits. See how Niamh is doing and what is next for her. I also loved that surprise bit about Geoff and who his partner was. Oh my! Couple goals indeed. XD

I would recommend this to anybody who enjoys crime and thriller books and people who like horror and books with a creepy, supernatural twist. I would rate it 5 stars because it had a great plot and I really enjoyed reading it. Determined to make it through her Drama Course, Niamh is placed at the Victorian Museum to put her drama skills to the test, and there she meets Tommy: he’s kind, fun, attentive, and really hot! Nonetheless, there’s something eerie about the museum… The friendship with Jess, the family closeness and the love interest scenes were a wonderful addition to the suspense we get, like breathing a bit of fresh air as well. I loved it when scenes made me giggle or give me the butterflies. It was very light as well, which helped break the scary moments and make you believe everything was good, before another plot twist happened.The storyline was good and exciting. The only problem I had was the scary parts. It wasn't scary enough for me. I couldn't feel the ice-cold feeling when you been scared for one scene. It was like a normal thriller book. I devoured both Harrow Lake by Kat Ellis and Good Girls Die First by Kathryn Foxfield. They both had that feeling reminiscent of a really good teen horror movie and I couldn’t put them down. I’m also excited for The Cousins by Karen McManus, as I have loved her previous books. I wish I had done more research as I actually didn't realise this was a YA thriller and I am normally let down by those - they seem to be romance driven and just not very good, in my opinion.

The characters Niamh interacts with, all have warmth and by the end of the book, personally felt like they were my friends. The museum's murderous and supernatural past plays heavily on Niamh as well as playing the role of Jane (who was a real person) which makes her uncomfortable as she also bears a striking similarity to Niamh. When she becomes friends with the mysterious and gorgeous colleague Tommy, they hit it off and the chance of romance seems to be the welcome distraction she needs. Will Tommy's dark secrets lead to her getting hurt in more ways than one, is there a supernatural connection to the serial killer of the past to the one in the present and will the murderer strike again and claim Niamh as his next victim only time will tell?
