About this deal

The Flymo is still a great machine, and is very good value for money and has a higher shredding rating at 16:1. As for switching modes, some models simply have a switch that flips between blower and vacuum, but in other cases you will need to remove and reattach tubes, bags and handles when you want to change. This tends to make the device more effective in each job, though, so you need to weigh the hassle against the results. Hi, do you think the Flymo is better than the Hyundai? I have just watched your Hyundai review and you don’t seem to have a Flymo review. Key specs – Type: Electric garden vac, blower and mulcher, 1,800W; Bag capacity: 45l; Mulching: Yes; Dimensions: 115 x 23 x 67cm; Weight: 3.4-4.7kg The Flymo PowerVac 3000 Garden Blower produces a more than sufficient 3000 watts of power and delivers a phenomenal blow speed of 310 km/hr.

Are you considering incorporating cold-water immersion therapy... Petrol models give you the best of both worlds, but you will need to keep the (flammable) fuel in a shed or garage and head to the petrol station for a top-up. You will also need to mix it with oil, as you’re more than likely dealing with a two-stroke engine, and any failure to do could cause damage before too long. Capacity and conversion

Its ergonomic handle has a soft-grip that’s uber comfortable, controls are conveniently positioned, and it’s easy to transition between blow and vacuum. It’s also relatively lightweight for a 3000w unit, and I’ve never once felt strain on my piddly arms thanks to the free shoulder strap. The 45L collection bag is a big time saver when it comes to disposing of matter. If you’ve ever had problems in the past when you’ve found the bag on your leaf blower is too small and you’ve consequently wasted too much time emptying it, then this certainly solves that problem. This seems like the perfect size, but we won’t lie and say it might not be irritating some of the time, especially when it’s nearly full. Finally, it’s a super compact leaf blower at 87L x 20W x 30H centimetres. The collection bag easily detaches, so you can stow the unit away without taking too much space. Key specs – Type: Electric garden vac, blower and mulcher, 2,800W; Bag capacity: 40l; Mulching: Yes; Dimensions: 119 x 18 x 65cm; Weight: 5.9kg As a seasoned expert in the field of garden power tools, I have dedicated over a decade to working with and reviewing a wide variety of lawn mowers. My extensive experience has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the benefits and limitations of different types of mowers and garden tools. It means that garden vacuums are surprisingly useful, especially when you consider that many on the market also double as leaf blowers, which means you can easily move waste around as well as dispose of it with one single unit. The bag is highly durable and has reinforced seams to protect against tearing (another issue with a handful of competitor products). Clipping the bag onto the blower is also easy, courtesy of two design-friendly loops—a huge plus. Competitor Comparison The wheels attached to the tube make it great for going in lines, making it easier to systematically clear up any mess in its path. However, be prepared for trouble when turning as the wheels do not operate so well when it comes to changing direction (James Dyson really is onto something with the ball wheel on his vacuum cleaners!). ( EDIT 2021 – The new model of this blower sadly no longer features wheels). Having said that, this won’t be a problem if you keep the blower held up throughout, which is a more than reasonable demand for most. The fact it only weighs 6kg is a big help, especially if you are working for longer over a larger area. ProsBoth the Flymo and Hyundai Electric Leaf Blowers are very comparable in terms of power, both are 3-1 and warranty. I would personally recommend the Hyundai for you as it is slightly lighter, has a wheel at the bottom that can be used to take the weight of the blower and has a 2 m longer power cable. One of the outstanding features of this model is that it is super easy to use. It is light and comfortable enough for almost anyone to use with ease and the power makes it fast and effective. Clearing up after a day’s gardening is something few of us get excited about. And if you’ve ever had to clear up after a moulting autumnal magnolia, oversized oak or shedding sycamore, you will know what a time-consuming job it can be using only traditional hand tools. For these jobs, a garden vacuum could well be the answer. You can tell the Flymo PowerVac 3000 is manufactured by Husqavarna. Known for producing user-centric features, they’ve put some really thoughtful engineering into the overall design.

Unless you own acres upon acres of land, the Power Vac 3000 has plenty to keep your space clean. The 45-litre collection bag is generous, and it shreds matter at a ratio of 16:1 — converting leaves into a fine mulch fit for flower beds. Despite having heaps going on under the hood, it only weighs 4.8kg, so there’s no heavy lifting needed when wielding the blower. Likewise, 83dB noise is quiet for a product with this power.A garden vacuum works on the same principle as the one you use on floors and carpets in your home. Comprising a long tube, a bag to collect the waste, and an impeller, as the impeller spins, air is pushed out of a vent in the unit, and in so doing creates an area of low pressure that’s a partial vacuum. Suction is created by air rushing through the intake to fill the vacuum – carrying your garden trimmings with it. Since there isn’t much tech involved, the prices can be very reasonable. Do I want a garden vacuum or a leaf blower? My favourite feature of the Flymo PowerVac 3000 is the collection bag. At 45 litres, it’s spacious enough to prevent tedious trips to the garden waste bin every few minutes — a big problem I’ve experienced with other leaf blowers. The Flymo PowerVac 3000 is a cabled leaf blower manufactured by the Husqvarna group — a leading name in producing premium outdoor products. This device is no different. Fit for domestic use, the Power Vac 3000 has a sizable fan that blows at 310km/h, shifting everything from leaf piles to heavy garden debris.

Pros

If you’re like me, complicated assemblies take the fun out of buying a new garden gadget. Thankfully, the Flymo PowerVac 3000 doesn’t have any fiddly setups. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 — simply connect the blower tube and intake cover, then the collection bag. All that’s left to do is attach the shoulder strap. The Flymo PowerVac 3000 easily has enough power to sort out all but the largest gardens. The 3000W motor can push out air at speeds of 310km/hr, and had no problems blasting damp leaves on the driveway or hoovering them up from a set of concrete steps. It also shreds your debris down to tiny fragments, with a compression ratio of 16:1. Combine that with a 45l bag and you can clear a large area without stopping for an empty.
