Thermos flasks use an ingenious mechanism which consists of dual layers separated by a vacuum cavity between them. The vacuum is a region of space with no air or anything at all in it – this creates a natural barrier to heat leaving or entering the innermost chamber holding your drink. As we said before, the Milu is more bowl-shaped and can easily be eaten from directly. The 6.6cm wide opening is extremely convenient for easy filling and eating as well. The Okadi is a 2.5L flask which offers extremely good capacity for both family and group adventures. It is fabricated from stainless steel which gives excellent core strength and durability. This thermos will last for a long period of time indeed.If you take your thermos flask to the local coffee shop and ask them to fill it up instead of having your drink served in a disposable coffee cup with plastic lid then you will be reducing the amount of landfill and waste material which gets produced from these establishments. None of the flasks leaked from the main body – however, some flasks can't be filled to their stated capacity without liquid coming out when you screw on the lid. We dropped each flask five times from 90cm to mimic a dropped flask. Those with large dents that inhibited function or ability were rated low. All the flasks we tested are made of high-quality 18/8 food-grade stainless steel that resists dents, dings and scratches. The trade-off with steel flasks is that they can be heavy, although modern designs are shaving weight all the time, and in some cases, they now weigh little more than a standard plastic drinks bottle. Warranty: We always suggest buying a vacuum flask from a manufacturer who will offer a warranty of at least one year, and preferably more. A warranty acts as a safeguard for your flask against unexpected defects, and ensures that you won’t have to buy again if something goes wrong. If you’re planning on spending a wodge of cash on a flask, then go for the one with the warranty. Typical Heat Retention Times This flask has a familiar design with a classic ‘pop’ stopper that makes for easy pouring. With cheap, inferior flasks these are often prone to leaking but with this Outwell version the component seems well-made and reliable. It certainly didn’t leak on test. It’s a simple, inexpensive flask that makes use of a classic tried and tested design. The wide mouth makes the flask easy to fill and clean, while the cup’s plastic liner ensures you won’t burn your mouth. On the other hand, it is fairly bulky for a 750ml flask, with a small cup compared to some other designs. The external finish is also a bit slippery and prone to scratching.
