About this deal

However, it’s just a matter of setting the correct platform and/or adding the config in the right file for your Shelly to be configured as switch, cover, … Shelly relays (1, 1PM, 1L, 2.5) ¶ If Device Name or Channel Name is set in the device, the integration will use them to generate the entities’ name. Control your lights based on luminousity - Together with an LDR (photoresistor), Shelly Plus Add-on can trigger Shelly Plus 2PM to open the blinds when the room is too dark and it's still daytime. Additionally, when luminosity is low, Shelly Plus Add-on can trigger Shelly Plus 1 to turn on the lights at just the right time. Turn the cheapest heaters into the smartest devices with Shelly Humidity & Temperature Sensor and Shelly Plug - you can automatically control any electric heater. 365-Day History These binary sensors allow you to create automations for a long-push on the connected button, but also give you some insights on the device state.

If Channel Name is set in the device, the integration will use it to generate the entities’ name, e.g. Kitchen Light Motion-controlled lights - Shelly Plus Add-on can also be connected to a PIR sensor to light up rooms that you occasionally use around the house. This way, when you enter the room, the light will come on for as long as you need it to. But you can also configure a device as light, which will also give you control over brightness and colour temp, if the device supports it. light.room_x_lamp - sensor.room_x_lamp_input - sensor.room_x_lamp_temperature - sensor.room_x_lamp_temperature_f - sensor.room_x_lamp_power - sensor.room_x_lamp_energy - sensor.room_x_lamp_overpower - binary_sensor.room_x_lamp_longpush - binary_sensor.room_x_lamp_switch - binary_sensor.room_x_lamp_overtemp - binary_sensor.room_x_lamp_firmware # External sensors - sensor.room_x_lamp_temperature_0 - sensor.room_x_lamp_temperature_0_f - sensor.room_x_lamp_humidity_0 - sensor.room_x_lamp_temperatures - sensor.room_x_lamp_temperatures_f - sensor.room_x_lamp_humidities # Room Z ## Shelly i3 shelly_room_z_switch:

Configuring a device as cover allows you to control things like blinds, curtains, shades, shutters, garage doors, … sensor.room_z_switch_input_1 - sensor.room_z_switch_input_2 - sensor.room_z_switch_input_3 - binary_sensor.room_z_switch - binary_sensor.room_z_switch_switch_1 - binary_sensor.room_z_switch_switch_2 - binary_sensor.room_z_switch_switch_3 - binary_sensor.room_z_switch_firmware Customisations ¶ Icons ¶ Shelly H&T is the worst H&T out there. I’ve got 4 of them in my house and they are just atrocious. I was looking up for a way to flash them with ESPHome but apparently Alterco refuses to share the GPIO pinouts. All things considered, the Shelly H&T is the best Wi-Fi temperature and humidity sensor for Home Assistant. It can be battery-powered for over a year, it connects locally, and doesn't require a hub. It is also the way to go if you are seeking continuous updates from the sensor. When connect to the mains, the Shelly H&T doesn't require any power-saving. Sonoff TH16: Temperature and humidity monitoring add-on

Home Assistant will display a repair issue for the Shelly device if push updates from this device do not reach the Home Assistant server. Shelly H&T is a smart temperature and humidity sensor, which can be remotely controlled and monitored through a mobile phone, tablet, PC, or home automation system. It can work standalone in a local Wi-Fi network or it can also be operated through cloud home automation services. Just note that the 2.5 has 2 switch inputs and 2 relay outputs, so you’d need to duplicate configs specific to those, one linked to input/relay 0 and to other to input/relay 1. Shelly H&T has an embedded Web Interface, which can be used to monitor and control the device, as well as adjust its settings.

Using the homeassistant.update_entity service for an entity belonging to a battery-powered device is not possible because most of the time these devices are sleeping (are offline).

Binary sensors are created only if the input mode is set to switch. When the input is of type button you need to use events for your automations. Event entities (generation 1) After I’ve bought them I started to build my own H&T sensors making use of ESP32 Dev Kit V4.1 and integrating it into ESPHOME with HASS. It works out more than 50% cheaper and stable from the bat off. Reply Overall, I’ll give Shelly credit for something that looks a bit different to your average sensor, but I imagine you’ll either love it or hate it. Personally, it’s not something I plan on looking at, to be honest, so looks aren’t that important, but my first impressions are that whilst it feels reasonably sturdy, it does feel a bit cheaply made. Still, for around €19,99 I’m not expecting it to compete with the likes of Eve products, for example, which are always very well designed. How it performs is what matters, if you don’t intend for it to be a talking piece at parties…

Welcome

Once the Gen 2 become more readily available, and I get my hands on one or more of them, I may make a new post about the changes. Configuration file structure ¶ Shelly generation 2 devices running firmware 0.12 or later can act as a Bluetooth proxy for advertisements. Active or passive listening can be enabled in the options flow. Options For battery-powered devices, the update platform entities only inform about the availability of firmware updates but are not able to trigger the update process. Since a Shelly relay (e.g. Shelly 1 or 2.5) only supports on/off toggling, so it doesn’t really matter whether it’s configured as a light or a switch. Copy the all parts in the config for Phase A and replace emeter/0 with emeter/1 or emeter/2 for Phase B and Phase C respectively.
