If taking antibiotics (tetracyclines, quinolones), cardiac glycosides (digoxin, digitoxin), bisphosphonates (used for the treatment of osteoporosis), dolutegravir (an anti-retroviral medicine used for the treatment of HIV infection), levothyroxine (a thyroid hormone), eltrombopag (a medicine used to increase the number of platelets) or other prescribed medicines (e.g. fluorides, phosphate, iron containing products) speak to your doctor before taking Rennie Dual Action Tablets because it can affect how these medicines work. To maximise the benefit of all medicines being used, take Rennie Dual Action Tablets 1 to 2 hours after taking any other medicines.

This medicine is only for adults and children over 12 years. Do not give to children under the age of 12. Heartburn is an unpleasant condition that occurs when acid from the stomach rises up into the oesophagus and the throat where it causes a burning pain. This action is called acid reflux.The pain of heartburn can last for several hours or more and is often made worse by eating. Many people suffer sleepless nights as a result of heartburn because lying down can trigger the condition and increase the pain. Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Rennie Dual Action Tablets can be used during pregnancy if taken as instructed. Rennie Dual Action Tablets can be used while breast-feeding if taken as Prolonged use of high doses may possibly result in hypermagnesaemia or hypercalcaemia and alkalosis (GI symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, fatigue, confusion, polyuria, polydypsia, dehydration), particularly in patients with impaired renal function. Prolonged use of high doses of calcium carbonate with milk may lead to Burnett syndrome (milkalkali syndrome).treatment of HIV infection), eltrombopag (a medicine used to increase the number of platelets) or other prescribed medicines (e.g. fluorides, phosphate, iron containing products) speak to your doctor before taking Rennie Dual Action Thiazide diuretics reduce the urinary excretion of calcium. Due to increased risk of hypercalcaemia, serum calcium should be regularly monitored during concomitant use of thiazide diuretics.

Calcium salts reduce the absorption of fluoride and iron containing products, and calcium salts and magnesium salts can hinder the absorption of phosphates. Trapped wind in your abdomen can be caused by excess swallowed air moving from the stomach into the intestines where it can make you feel bloated until the air is released as flatulence. If you wear clothes that fit tightly around your waist this will increase the pressure on your abdomen and make you even more uncomfortable. Another cause of abdominal bloating is gas produced by bacteria in your colon as they break down the residue from the small intestine. Most of this gas is absorbed into your blood stream, the rest is released as flatulence.In view of possible changes in the rate of absorption of medicines taken concomitantly, it is recommended that antacids are not administered at the same time as other medicines but taken 1 to 2 hours later. Prolonged use of high doses may result in undesirable side-effects such as hypercalcaemia, magnesaemia and the milk alkali syndrome, particularly in patients suffering from renal insufficiency. The product should not be taken with large amounts of milk or dairy products. Rennie is designed to help relieve pain and discomfort associated with excess stomach acid. Pain/discomfort associated with cardiac conditions may on occasion mimic indigestion; such pain will not respond to Rennie, therefore it is recommended that As with all calcium containing antacid products intake with large amounts of milk or dairy products should be refrained. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
