About this deal

The first time I heard about this shampoo from Virtue Labs, I totally geeked out on the science behind the formula. It contains a proprietary ingredient called Alpha Keratin 60ku, a protein that’s identical to the protein that comprises 90 percent of our hair. The difference between a sulphate shampoo and a sulphate-free shampoo lies in the foam. All shampoos contain some sort of cleansing agent to remove dirt, oils and build-up of old product. The foam created by sulphate shampoos is certainly richer and longer lasting, but this doesn’t mean they are better at cleansing the hair. If you're not totally sure what sulphates are (no judgement here) and whether it makes sense to ditch them, don't worry —we've asked an expert all your burning questions. What are sulphates used for? A good shampoo for keratin-treated hair should not strip the keratin coating but reinforce the keratin treatment.

Instead, grab a soft microfiber towel or an old cotton t-shirt and pat down your hair. Then proceed with your usual styling routine. To see how effectively each one cleansed, we also added artificial skin oils to fake hair switches and measured how much each shampoo removed, using a Sebumeter machine.People who wash their hair very frequently should also make the switch, he adds, as well as those who have very dry hair. My only gripe about this shampoo is that it doesn’t contain hydrolyzed keratin, which means I have to add an extra product to my routine to top up the keratin. Maple Holistics Shampoo Often, keratin treatments can leave a bad odor in your hair that dissipates after a week or so. Sometimes it may even last longer. It’s essential to use a shampoo that can neutralize and mask the smell in the meantime. A. Wet your hair. Take a commensurate quantity of shampoo in your palm and gently massage your hair and scalp using your finger tips till the shampoo lathers up well. Rinse the shampoo off thoroughly. This cleansing cream shampoo gives proof of its name. It deeply cleans and removes heavy build-up on your hair. It helps in leaving hair fresh and free to grow. It gently cleanses your hair with a unique sulphate-free formula to prevent breakage and promote healthy hair growth with utmost care.

Most shampoos, no matter how gentle they claim to be have added perfumes, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that this product contains scent from essential oils. So that was a huge plus for me! Irwin also advises that those who have keratin or straightening treatments shouldn’t use sulphates, as it will stop the treatment working as well. How we test sulphate-free shampoos

This set comes with a shampoo and conditioner, both big enough to last for up to 2 months if you wash your hair twice a week. The amount of foam a shampoo produces has no correlation to how good at cleansing it is,” says Anabel Kingsley, trichologist and brand president at Philip Kingsley. While it’s true that the sulphates of today are nowhere near as harsh as their predecessors, they can still strip the hair of its natural oils and cause colour to fade, leaving hair dry, dull and difficult to manage. Those who have dyed their hair or use keratin treatments may, therefore, benefit from using a sulphate-free product, like our Pure Colour Shampoo. However, if sulphates are formulated into products correctly, they are fine for use.” Reparative shampoo to strengthen fragile hair after keratin treatments. Jump to Review ⇊ Show Details
