About this deal

Lilly lost her parents at 17 to tragedy now ten years later she’s running her own bikini wagon and conducting wet t-shirt contests on the beaches of Miami enjoying her life. Keller has been charged to find the only remaining heir left to take over the throne for King Theo. You probably guessed that Lilly is that only remaining heir and now Keller has to turn this fun loving, bad word slinging American, into a Princess fit to take the throne. Meghan writes the “Stroked” series, the “Dating by Numbers” series, the “Love and Sports” series, the “Binghamton” series, the “Jett Girl” series, and the “Hot-Lanta” series, as well as some stand alone novels. She writes romance and romantic suspense novels.

I totally get why this book is described as a The Princess Diaries retelling with a dash of My Fair Lady and a yummy dollop of 50 Shades of Grey, and I enjoyed this combo very much. Everything that happened in between, such as the humor and the heat and the banter and the... well, just EVERYTHING... made this a must-read for me. Royally Not Ready is a rom com, bodyguard, royalty book with loads of laughs and very few triggers. This book does have sexually explicit scenes with some BDSM. Trigger Warnings

Eventually the relationship starts and the sexual harassment ends and of course it gets steamy! Then they immediately fall in love. There is also a lot of the author’s typical humor. I think if you were a fan of the Highland Fling by the author you might enjoy this. The heroines are similarly outspoken and audacious. You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation. Keller doesn’t have a lot of faith that Lilly will be able to learn everything she needs to learn. He has to succeed for his country and King Theo or the country may be taken over by the neighboring country of Arkham. This book delivered on everything I love about Meghan Quinn. I laughed out loud, I cried more than once, and I am going to have the worst book hangover in literal history. Not to mention I think this might be one of the spiciest books Meghan Quinn has written her. Lilly drove Keller nuts. I want to say in the best of ways, but she also drove me nuts. I’m not complaining that much because even when I was empathizing with Keller’s annoyance, I was laughing at it. Lilly knew just what to do to push his buttons in all the wrong and right ways. These two had insane chemistry. It kept ramping up the entire first half of the book. I couldn’t wait to see the explosion and it was everything I wanted it to be. I loved how Keller and Lilly got to know each other on a deeply emotional level and the connection they made. They were a great mix of sweet and passionate.

In this post I am doing a Royally Not Ready book review. This is the first book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn and after almost a full month of non stop dark romance I figured I needed a light hearted break with a Rom Com. This book was exactly what I needed. Royally not ready had three main tropes for me, Royal Romance, Enemies to Lovers and Grumpy/Sunshine. I think Grumpy/Sunshine was the predominant trope for me and I was happy that was the case. Keller was very prim and proper, just as you would expect an employee of a royal family to be; but don't let that fool you. Keller has a naughty side that certainly fulfilled the steam factor for this book. I’ll just lay it out there… in my opinion, this is Meghan Quinn’s best work. I thought I loved Royally Not Ready, but with the edition of this next chapter for Keller and Lilly, she legit hit it out of the park. After finding out from a handsome stranger she’s a princess and heir to the throne of Torskethorpe, Lilly travels to the small island nation to learn about her ancestral country and go through princess training, similar to Mia Thermopolis (only Mia didn’t whine so much about it)Yes. My. King. Royally in Trouble by Meghan Quinn was an angsty, heartfelt, and steamy romance that continued the story of Lilly and Keller. Meghan brings all her signature witty banter that we loved from Lilly and Keller in Royally Not Ready, but this time she weaves in all the tension and suspense. Their journey to finally reach their HEA is full of emotional twists and unexpected turns that will ultimately leave a worthwhile and satisfying smile on your face.

First baseman for the Atlanta Warriors, named Brady Matthews, is well known for being Atlanta’s gigolo and believed he was just taking Michael Banks, a new teammate, out on the town. He didn’t realize his friend from college, Jane, would turn up at their table and turn his whole world upside down. Lilly was super immature and annoying in book one and I thought there would be more of the same here, which was disappointing. But surprisingly, while she does get all vulgar sometimes, she dialed it down A LOT, which was good. She was still her but finally was beginning to realize she should reign it in in public. Thankfully, Meghan Quinn keeps us smiling while the characters are dealing with the events of Royally In Trouble. I really tried to figure out the mystery before the end, but I definitely had no idea what was coming. LOL. While I liked this book, I took off a star because I needed a longer conflict resolution between Keller and Lilly. I felt like they rushed through some important healing that would be needed after the events. The thing I loved most about this book—well, there were a LOT of things I loved—but the thing that made it stand out from the other things I've read from Meghan was the mystery element! I LOVED it! I love romances with that hint of mystery, and this was more than a hint. It was huge part of the plot, and I was so here for it. I thought I had it figured out several times, and while my original hunch was *partially* right, I didn't totally have it, so for that, I give major props. In this modern and spicy fairy tale of a romance by Meghan Quinn, Keller Fitzwilliam is entrusted by the King of Torskethorpe in finding the King’s American granddaughter and training her to be the next sovereign.

stars equals “Meh.” I will not read this book again, it had a lot of problems and I did not care for it.
