At the end of Tangled, Maximus is knighted by the king, marking a significant transformation from a regular steed to the Captain of the Guards. So far in the Disney theme parks, Maximus has only appeared in the 2010 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, walking Rapunzel in the parade with Flynn by his side. He has made no live appearances since but has his likeness commonly featured in several entities, most notably in parades.
