About this deal

After receiving her degree in Psychology, Adelaide went on to work in a therapeutic riding facility. When her daughter was born, Adelaide traded out her boots to be a stay-at-home mom. In 2019, she added author to those job duties after a lifetime of dreaming about it. If there was one thing I knew about Rafael Ibarra, it was that he did as he pleased. And to hell with what anyone else thought.” arranged marriage contract since childhood. Our H is 👏🏼ALL IN👏🏼 from the beginning. And I loved that. Dreams of the Deadly is the story of a multifaceted love that knows no bounds. It’s a blöödy tale of revenge and a no holds barred rise to power. our h is a mafia princess whose color blind and has been beaten physically and mentally her whole life by her father.

I love how I'm in a slump and come across booktoks with random descriptions and the next thing I know I've binge read a whole 4 book series. I really didn’t think I would love a captor/tormentor story as much as I did. This author did and AMAZING job at bring you 2 very complex beautifully dark characters and make you fall hard for them both. Thalia Karras, daughter of a GREEK (yeah, you read it right!) Mafioso is contracted to marry Calix Regas when she's just five years old. Nothing to worry, the story is absolutely safe in that aspect. Tropes: Mafia/Bratva/Crime Family, Age Gap, Arranged Marriage, Alphahole Hero, Touch-Her-and-💀, Virgin h, One Night Stand, StäIker-ish, Friends-to-Enemies-to-Lovers Beauty in Lies is a series of four books that follows the dark and twisted romance between Rafael and Isa.

Although I did enjoy the overall series as a whole, I do think some of the books needed a little bit more when it came to plot. Authors, if you are a member of the Goodreads Author Program, you can edit information about your own books. Find out how in this guide. It’s official, Adelaide Forrest is my favorite mafia romance author, this book was everything you could ever want in a mafia romance. Angst, spice, family drama, tension, and bloodshed, it has it all. Rafael is something else. I can’t say he makes it onto my list of book boyfriends because he was slightly too unhinged for my tastes. He’s a character who really made it difficult to like him. Every time I thought he was winning me over he did something crazy and it put me off again. That being said at no point in this book was I not rooting for Rafe and Isa to sort through their issues and have their HEA. While some of his actions were brutal it is very clear that he loves Isa but he just doesn’t know how to show it.

Y el día de la boda de Thalia, Calix interrumpe la ceremonia matando al que sería el esposo de ella y a los invitados. This series follows Isa and Rafe. Their story begins in Chicago, in the midst of the Bellandi War. Rafael sets eyes on Isa from across the street and was determined right then and there to have her. But, seeing that she was only 16 at the time, he decides to wait the 16 months for her to reach her 18th birthday before acting upon it. He spends the next sixteen months absolutely consumed with Isa and will do anything to claim her in every way possible! Little does she know that she'll end up falling for a monster with plenty of hidden secrets. There is just something that will ALWAYS speak to me when a hero is literally ready to bring down the world for his woman. Calix is already trying to do that as a young teen even before he has feelings of desire for Thalia. From the day that he is promised to her through the marriage contract, he goes out of his way to protect and watch out for her. Leading to some disastrous consequences I might add.

There was potential and to be honest, I was quite into it when the story began, showing how the two main characters met. Once they became adult, it seemed to me that their connection lost some of its depth. There was no passion or anything that really made me root for them. Something else that was kind of a miss for me was how the author didn't develop around Neri's diary ( Thalia's mother). We never get to know what secrets was in it. My guess is that it will play a part in the second book but I mean, I think the author missed her opportunity here to build an intrigue around the diary. And I can tell for sure that if she'd done that here, I would actually be looking forward to the next book. Isa has been living a life of regret and has spent her time trying to come to terms with something that happened years ago. A tragic accident with her twin sister Odina has left their relationship broken and from that moment on, Odinas hatred for Isa only escalates over the years. Calix a sus 13 años tuvo que firmar un contrato de una matrimonio arreglado con Thalia, que en ese entonces tenia 5 años. Para poder unificar y dejar de lado las disputas entre las familias.

I also want to say that I am really intrigued to see where Thalia will end up by the end of this duet. She may seem like a broken and worn out girl. Barely able to get through every day, but she has some fire in her belly and seeing that fire peak through is so validating. He will stop at nothing to return to her side and protect her, In every way possible from the evil in the darkness. Was it harsh at times? Yes. Was Rafe a dark monster? Yes…. But you still rooted for him cause along with his very dark monster he was drift only for her. He had a lot of love that was ONLY for her.

The way their relationship stared was unique and unusual. And was wondering how the author would manage to make them evolve into the adult-version where we can get the Romance and all the good stuff.Let's talk about Rafael: this is the darkest, most morally grey man I have met, but I was obsessed! Think of him as your alphahole, possessive, man giving off intense "touch her and you die" vibes! Some of his actions were questionable but the way he talks 😮‍💨 and I LOVED that he was Hispanic! There's nothing hotter than a man speaking Spanish and I was weak 🥵 Isa is a girl from Chicago, who is naive and inexperienced. She lives her life trying to fix a mistake from the past, which her twin sister absolutely hates her for. (This sister is a bish and karma is a real thing) when she meets Rafe she learns to embrace the darkness that lurks inside her and that ‘good girls don’t always have more fun’
