Masky Gyro ( マスキージャイロ, Masukī Jairo): It is piloted by Pink Mask. It is stored in the hood of the Turbo Ranger, to the right of the Masky Jet and with rotors folded for ease of storage. It forms the right arm of the Great Five and the Gyro Cutter. Oink Games continue to produce highly unusual and memorable games and Maskmen now sits in place in one of my favourite games not only released this year, but also of all time. I genuinely love this game that much. The Hero: While the other team members get focus, Takeru is The Leader of the team and the one driving the plot. Tomboy and Girly Girl: Haruka and Momoko, though this one's more downplayed: They got the differences all right, but the fact that they're martial artists means that they're equally prone of jokes of 'Are these tomboys enjoying feminine things? You serious?' And they both don't take it well. And of course, Igam and Iyal. A hand of cards is dealt to each player (the number of cards depends on the number of players), then the first player will introduce a wrestler to the ring. They do this by playing a single card of the chosen wrestler’s colour.

Lensman Arms Race: Both Baraba and Prince Igam, receive new weapons shortly after the Maskman team has gotten their own. After belts are awarded at the end of the round, the strength columns are reset and players start at the beginning again with a new hand of cards. The Brute: He's both a powerful warrior and skilled swordsmen, in addition to being Tube's military commander. Masky Fighter ( マスキーファイター, Masukī Faitā): It is piloted by Red Mask. It is stored in the cabin of the Turbo Ranger. It forms the head and chest of the Great Five. It appears again in Gaoranger vs Super Sentai. One-Winged Angel: In the final battle, Zeba assumes his true form as Lethal Doggler II after being exposed by Ial and Igam.The titular Hikari Sentai Maskman is the top secret fighting force formed by Sanjuro Sugata. Before Tube surfaced, the group posed as the pit crew of the Sugata Racing Team. Masky Jet ( マスキージェット, Masukī Jetto): It is piloted by Yellow Mask. It is stored in the hood of the Turbo Ranger, to the left of the Masky Gyro. It forms the left arm of the Great Five and the Five Shield. A powerful warrior of the Baluga Tribe who serves as supreme commander of the Tube Empire's armies.

The next player in Maskmen then needs to introduce another wrestler themselves or pass. To introduce a new wrestler, they have to prove the new one is stronger. They do this by playing two cards of their chosen wrestler (different to the first one). The strength marker for this wrestler is placed above the first one to show it is stronger. Eye Catch: The eyecatch before the break shows the Maskman team. The end of the commercial break features Great Five posing with its' sword and shield. Evil Genius: He is incredibly wise and has a vast knowledge of Tube's history, having served even prior to Zeba's Hostile Takeover.

Old Shame: An in-universe example. His Bratty Half-Pint past is something he didn't want to reveal to his friends, so he hid the facts about his bratty self. The card play is super fun. There’s usually a couple good options available, and it’s exciting trying to figure which play is the most optimal. It’s also a joy for people who like stats (like me) to watch the logic trees develop. Of course, you’ll want to try and manipulate those logic trees. If you have 5 greens, you’ll want to make sure green ends up near the top and not on the bottom, where everyone can beat it. Expy: Considering the Shout-Out to Robot Romance Trilogy, Igam is basically the Richter for Ial's Erika, although there are elements of Prince Heinel (being outcasts of the fallen royal family who wants to rise through the ranks of their kingdoms to prove themselves and restore family honor) and Teral (High-ranking female general who convincingly disguised herself as a man) The Movie: The Maskmen tried to help a mermaid that was being deceived by Tube to sing a destructive song. Oh, and they had a Dancing Theme for opening. Bad Boss: Even by the standards of Sentai villains, Zeba is an abysmal boss. Just about every episode has him zapping his subordinates with lightning because they did something to displease him.

Never Trust a Trailer: Not very severe but the preview for episode one makes it look lighthearted and nothing very heavy. Kurokawa ( 黒川, 28 & 29): A member of the Jet Cannon development staff who assists Akaike. He is played by Kazuhiko Nishimura, who would go on to play Jō Ōhara in Chōjū Sentai Liveman. Mythology Gag: Is the Pink Ranger, uses Ribbon as her weapon, and part of her name is 'Momo'. We've had this concept before. Out-Gambitted: Episode 41 has him brainwashing the two female Maskmen to commit robberies for him. Only for it to turn out they were just playing along to get him to reveal his true plans and all the robberies were staged. Knight Templar: Does everything he does in the name of restoring his family to power, though he was down with Zeba's invasion of the surface world and was even willing to murder his own sister.Commander Sanjuro Sugata ( 姿 三十郎 長官, Sugata Sanjūrō-chōkan): Sugata is a scientist and martial artist who formed the Maskmen. He is a wise man who excels in mental reinforcements and every martial art. Sugata was the one learned of Tube's existence and their plot to conquer the surface world. A mysterious man, Sugata fights against Takeru the year before he was chosen to become Red Mask. He is the owner of Sugata Racing, a motoring team for which Takeru is a driver and Kenta once worked as an engineer.
