About this deal

The two cats ran to look at the dough pan. Sure enough there were marks of little scratching fingers, and a lump of dough was gone!

In her thirties, Potter published the highly successful children's book The Tale of Peter Rabbit and became secretly engaged to her publisher, Norman Warne, causing a breach with her parents, who disapproved of his social status. Warne died before the wedding. As an adult reading this book, and as an owner of cats, this book is a little disturbing thinking about the rats attempting to bake poor Tom Kitten into a pudding. The illustration also doesn't help as it depicts these two rats using a rolling pin to squash Tom into pastry and it's a little unsettling. However, apart from this slight change, this book is still as good as when I was a little girl and they continually prove themselves as unforgettable classics.

As well as writing books, Beatrix Potter protected the land where she lived and left all her property to the National Trust. Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes is number 22 in Beatrix Potter's series of 23 little books, the titles of which are as follows: Even though his story was never adapted Squirrel Nutkin made a guest cameo in The Tale of Mr. Tod which obviously took place before as Nutkin still had his tail. All in a minute she rushed upon Tom Kitten, and before he knew what was happening— His coat was pulled off, and he was rolled up in a bundle, and tied with string in very hard knots.

I do not think”—said Samuel Whiskers, pausing to take a look at Tom Kitten—”I do not think it will be a good pudding. It smells sooty.” The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends - BBC One London - 29 August 1993". BBC Genome Project. 29 August 1993 . Retrieved 6 November 2019. Mittens ran away to the dairy, and hid in an empty jar on the stone shelf where the milk pans stand. Anna Maria said she thought that it was of no consequence; but she wished that Tom Kitten would hold his head still, as it disarranged the pastry. She laid hold of his ears.

Harley Quinn thinks that this article looks kinda boring, eh? Why not put some categories there to spice it up?Reading through the Beatrix Potters is like watching a series of wildlife documentaries — watch the one about the lions and you’re rooting for the lions. Watch the one about the deer and you’re rooting for the deer, and mad at the lions for killing the deer. The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends - BBC Two England, 25 December 1998".
