About this deal

But also the Xbox (or the phone, or the PC, or anything else which you will use to listen to music or watch videos or play games) must have Aptx.

My recommendation would be to wait until more information is released on the new esw9ltd to see if it really did retain the great musicality, but now with some good improvements. Id have recommended the ESW9 prior to a few days ago, but as just one guy who seems to have ties to ATH has said on Head Fi and the forums at Vzone, the new version is better. Best to wait a bit and see. he first time I heard this headphone, I’d booted this song up, jaw dropped, eyes widened…this is a small closed headphone with a great sense of air between instruments, yet also retained excellent solidity as mentioned before. Not much padding on the underside, but it isn’t needed at all. What little padding that is there is more than justified for the excellent fit and comfort this headphone offers. I admit to feeling a bit saddened over the imitation leatherette pads not being authentic, but that sentiment is a worthless one due to the materials used being very good for what they are.The deviants over at Sony have been up to no good lately. After a string of new headphones released in 2014, Sony has shelled out another for us in the form of a Bluetooth portable called the XB950BT. If you really love bass, you’ll love the Sony MDR-XB950N1. The adjustable bass means you can dial in the headphone’s bass response just the way you like. We would have liked to see a multi-band EQ but Sony kept it simple with just a bass slider. How would you describe the XB950’s (sub)bass and the sound signature, compared to the Pro700 MK2? Do these two headphones have the same kind of wow-factor (for non-analytic listeners), or completely different beasts with different type of sound / target audience?

If you have big ears or you like a really roomy feel, go with the Audio-Technica Solid Bass. You’ll get wider inlets in the earpads and a generally more luxurious feel. That being said, the Sony Extra Bass provides better isolation from outside noise. Audio 46: Audio-Technica ATH-WS550 Solid Bass Headphones (Use our promo code, “majorhifi” and get a 10% discount) Awesome review. Thank you for this. It’s the only concise and full review I’ve found for these headphones anywhere. The Priva is only transmitter but in case of need you can use two headphones together (without APTX codec in this last case). The earpads are excellent imitation leather indeed, but are also yummy in plushness and sink in a great deal. Clamp factor is a non-issue and the headphone offers plenty of support. The Sony reacts to bass EQ phenomenally well. Not so much in the mids or treble, which generally stay the same with moderate tweaking. The bass however can be dropped to make the headphone more linear, or even boosted for even more bass…which is crazy and shouldn’t be done. But, it is responsive via the wired connection, it dips to 3hz. BT stays at 20-20 sadly. No need to burn in, just enjoy. Im not a firm believer in the product burning in, I believe its our brain that burns in.

Looks certainly aren't everything for a headphone, but they are an area where the XB950AP/H does well. While quite a few of the XB series sport garish colour combinations, the XB950AP/H is a mixture of gunmetal and matte grey, and has a fairly refined sensibility. It's not eye-catching, which is, in my opinion, for the best. It's not a fashion statement, and it won't clash with anything one wants to pair it with, but the smooth lines, fairly low-profile fit, and well-matched colours leave it pretty easy on the eyes. They’ve become much intermingled with genre types that swap in an instant from Rap to Classical, Jazz to Soundscape. This headphone is one of the best and most well-rounded headphones in this price tier, period. If you’ve had the chance to try out the XB950AP (the wired, cheaper pair), would you consider buying that instead of the XB950BT? It doesn’t feature the bass boost feature and obviously one of the pros is not needing to charge the headphones. I don’t mind the wires personally as they are flat like my XB500’s which have never gotten tangled through my time with them. However they do become worn out over time and it’s not easy to replace when they do. As well as the general convenience of wireless BT headphones, I don’t get the luxury of connecting the XB950AP’s to my PS4/PS3 via Bluetooth which I never thought of doing until you mentioned the BT’s as being amazing gaming headphones. As a big gamer this is a brilliant thought to entertain and something I could find myself doing. Especially since they include a build-in mic. This was the first major misstep. It's not easy to make a comfortable supra-aural, and unfortunately Sony didn't quite hit the mark on this one. While the earpads are quite deep and well-padded, they're also quite small, which leaves ones' ears squeezed in and claustrophobic. The thin padding on the headband isn't really sufficient for the weight of the unit, either, and it doesn't do much to distribute force, leading to a sore spot on the top of my head when I wear it for more than a few minutes. The clamp is the real comfort killer, however, as the XB950AP/H hugs extremely hard to the head. These actually gave me a mild headache after less than an hour on my head.

Now, if you want to give him the best possible option, I would suggest you headphones and adapter which have the new Low Latency Aptx codec, which completely eliminate any sync problem between audio and video. Anyway, thought I’d share. And someone let me know if you find the equivalent tweak for plugged-in mode. Cheers!
