Those who grew up having cooked coconut in food or desserts will smell that in this. I don’t get popcorn at all, it really smells like coconut cream or toasted coconut, and also a bit like Malibu rum (i think the alcohol you get when you first spray is contributing to this haha). In Kenya (and East Africa) there’s a Swahili coconut dessert called kashata, it reminds me of that too! It’s gourmand and edible not like a shower gel/soap/lotion type of coconut scent. I would also use this to layer with tropical fruity scents like Zara Hibiscus 🌺 (this combo is GOOD and affordable!), SDJ’s Anitta or Mango Skin 🥭 etc. I think the spray and the coco cabana cream together would be too intense. Id try it with the bum bum cream instead. We also can’t get enough of Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream or the latest, Bom Dia Bright Cream - containing fruit AHAs. The moment I spray it on, I get coconut sweetness and orchid, it smells kind of odd, overly sweet indeed. But then comes the dry down. The off-putting mixture of sugar and orchid seems to fade away, leaving a very pretty creamy coconut praline scent. It reminds me of when I was a kid at the beach in my home country eating that coconut ice cream that comes in a coconut shell itself. It's sweet yes, but it's so pretty. Of all the coconut scents I've tried before, this one is definitely my favorite. I definitely don't get the popcorn scent that a lot of people seem to smell though. I've smelled the Coco Cabana cream before, and if anything I feel like that one has more of a popcorn smell than the spray. This scent can be tropical but also very gourmand, depending what lotions or other perfumes you layer it with. The Vanilla Vibes Juliette Has A Gun is similar to Brazilian Crush. It all comes down to the sweet Vanilla in both the perfumes, which makes them identical. Vanilla's richness and creaminess make Brazilian Crush a sensational fragrance. I sprayed it on a tshirt first day I got it and I can still smell it alot on the same shirt and in my room 2 days later. So definitely has lasting power on fabric. The coconut is really creamy; I smell the pralines. I think this is what I imagined Pink Sugar would smell like. I personally love it 100% more than Brazilian Crush, which I find basic and generic. This one has more character; a simple, cute fragrance. I wouldn't recommend blind buying (as I did) bc although the coconut, vanilla, praline are present, I find them special, very unnatural, almost headache inducing - which is a style, a type of scent and I see how people would like them!
