Whilst I have never smelled the original, and therefore my opinion might be lesser, I can wholeheartedly say that the quality as of scent on this fragrance is still out of this world. Bad performance and bad sillage, even the scent is not unique, it's lacks a lot of depth, most of the notes mentioned for this frag are missing. LNDH is all about the soothing lavender and sweet, fizzy cardamom, held together by a dry woody undertone that lingers and becomes more prominent after the first two wear off. If you are in a Nascar shirt and jeans shooting pool and wear this, you have offended this fragrance and the bottle should be taken away from you at once. It has a very pleasant spicy and aromatic opening, where the cardamom is perceptible, but also a sweet chord like a vanilla chocolate that is very addictive, perhaps the combination of coumarin and black pepper give me that perception. There are several youtube videos comparing the smell and longevity of LNDL over the course of a decade and the videos all found that they farther back the bottle was made, the darker and stronger it was and the longer it lasted. I recently tried this fragrance and although I usually avoid those with excessive marketing claims, I gave this one a chance because it was made by a talented perfumer.Like many of the other reviewers, I noticed nearly zero projection and sillage after the first 15 minutes (very warm day).
