About this deal

These include selection for Fear Fest 2023 and The Mini Indie Showcase as well as making Rock Paper Shotgun’s Bestest Bests list. Solve the murder from beyond the grave and be the first to figure it out in this spirited game of Boo-Dunnit! We love taking on the role of a detective to piece together the clues and evidence to catch the wrongdoer. The Dark Priest requires more tactical gameplay but companionless potential if played to their unique strengths.

Each player is actually dead and they are now responsible for figuring out the who, the how, and the why of their murder. I won’t spoil the plot by giving it away, but suffice it to say the alien’s capabilities seem more influenced by how quickly the humans learn what they can do rather than what they are actually able to accomplish, which creates a sort of unique dysfuntion all its own. And since everyone is paranoid and self-serving, it only muddles up discussion of how to interpret the rules more, depending on what side you’re on, human versus alien threat… That said, the game is fun and, if your gaming group isn’t full of a bunch of rules lawyers like mine is, hopefully you won’t get too bogged down in the fine print. When we first set up the game near a window, the sunlight hit the cards in the player boards, so that you could read the text on them through the back. Listening to the questions the other players are asking can be invaluable or lead you in the wrong direction. As a bit of fun and in keeping with the game each player does a ghost impression and the player with the best ghost impression goes first. They have sides for a bit of a barrier, but depending on how you’re sitting it may be extremely easy to spy on what the other players are doing. Game Carpool Karaoke Game Glyphics Hangry Hide N Cheek How To Rob A Bank Kenny G Keepin’ It Saxy Game Kraft Heinz Variety Game Pack Mega Mouth: The Game of Reading Lips Monster Crunch! It’s perfect for a games night with friends or family and has great re-playability – the game is different each time you play! Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process.

Motives have been brought into the present with ‘blocked on social media’ and ‘one star review’ amongst them and weapons used even features a selfie stick. As a family we often have family game nights and have quite the collection of board games but love trying out and adding new ones to our collection. I really like that each player is working on finding the answers to their specific card combinations sitting in front of them. The evidence boards work extremely well keeping track of all your evidence (the only negative being that we would have liked the card used to have been a bit thicker) and wipe clean after use nicely. It is a fun family game similar to clue only you have your cards facing your opponents and you have to solve your own mystery, however it is so easy to cheat and see through your own cards cards ahould be with a darker background or covered so Noone can see their own cars, and it does take a bit longer than a typical clue game.

is a one-man studio run by Stevie Andrea that is also responsible for titles such as Zapling Bygone. My first thought on looking at the game and reading the synopsis is that it was a modern twist on a classic whodunit game most people know but actually it is so much more. The game has a fun sense of humor, with the motives being absurd and often amusing, and it’s a nice touch that each player is trying to solve their own unique combination of cards. The theme is really weak and it could use some tweaking, but it’s still a fun game that doesn’t take a lot of setup or rules explanation to get going. When you guess 2, you ask a specific person about 2 suspect/weapon/motive cards and if they have one or both, they pick one and secretly show it to you.

Without looking at them, they put them on their game board so that all the other players can see them. Again, we’ve played it cooperatively and this may or may not hold true depending on your game group. If a player believes they have solved their demise on their turn instead of rolling the dice they can choose to make a final accusation of one suspect, one weapon and one motive. The game mechanics are a bit chunky but they aren’t overly complicated and the game doesn’t generally outlast its run time of around an hour once you get the hang of the actions and how the phases play out. If you again roll an element you believe you already know, you may then spend the token to choose any action on the die.

I think this game will be enjoyed by people who play games like Exploding Kittens – games that are just a little bit silly – but also by people who like to solve puzzles.

The other players will look at your cards and tell you how many of your guesses are correct, but not which ones, so be strategic in your guesses! That said, I will remind everyone that this was before CG, and it was a wholly different world of special effects then. In Ghosted, all players take on the role of a ghost and have to solve their own murder through a process of elimination, asking questions and gathering evidence to deduce who the killer is, their motive and the murder weapon. In these moments, the character is usually bleeding out and crawling, with little hope for salvation.Because of this extra confusion, sowing dissent for reasons that have nothing to do with the movie or theme and everything to do with people having their own ideas of how the rules and setup should be interpreted, I give the game only 3. If you’re looking to inject a little murder into your family (or friend) game nights (maybe you’re, I don’t know, annoyed by that one person who always double dips their chips), look no further than Ghosted, a new whodunnit board game from Big G Creative. Each player gets given a suspect card, weapon card and motive card (they can’t look at these) and these are placed face out on the evidence board so that other players see what’s on the cards except the player they belong to.
