This is a book about the precipitous, high-stakes relationship between creative genius and domestic life, centred on the lure and dangers of freedom. At first I felt this book was a little slow paced and simple, but sticking with it showed me how amazing it was. An actor, director and playwright, he has been working in theatre for thirty years, and has yet to have a performing arts venue named after him, or indeed win any major award.

Anyways, there is context missing for this scenario, and I have tweaked the lines a bit before posting so there wouldn't be any spoilers, but yeah just remember that even if you relate to the feelings in this poem, this dude. I was fond of these words strung together because I’m aware that at times I feel this type of emotion and others feel it as well. She was stuck in the past, Thinking about all the memories that she held of him, Only to know that he wasn't there anymore. Most of it quite beautiful to read, but did take me a while to get into the collection itself, since there wasn't a lot of rhyming in the poems. I long for the day I wake up to your wholesome eyes, and the ripeness that comes with you after a long night. It becomes clear here that the real question is about freedom: how much freedom should anyone have to take, how much can they bear?

He graduated from William Paterson University with a double major in History and Secondary Education in 2019. The theme of love and loss is empathetic but if feels like a series of cliche sentiments or thoughts of work chopped up to look like free verse and not showing any of the poetic structured forms found in other works of poetry. He started writing when he was younger, and has since fallen in love with all kinds of different poetry that the world has to offer. At times, the sadness is overwhelming but the collection is carried by the ambition to find and occupy a space between sadness and joy, to a least temporarily balance the scales of contemporary life. Poems that I liked: Perception, reminder, depart, nightfall, heavy heart, detrimental, ambition, deceitful, unmask, snowfall, reluctant, wounds ( made me laugh), flourish, mislead, torment, drastic, aspiration, rouse, uncertain, liberated, coax, loops.

Through simple and relatable statements and poems, I found that Yousaf was able to play delicately with my heart.Photograph: Harry Ogden/Courtesy Mortimer Rare Book Collection, Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts View image in fullscreen Plath’s relationship with Ted Hughes is vividly captured in Euphoria. Yousaf's imagery is nearly prophetic, like a deck of ancient tarot cards foretelling our futures through his personal experiences.
