About this deal

I’m still learning, still making mistakes, but I feel ready now – after a lot of twists and turns along the way – to share my journey with you. I don't usually read autobiographies, however I have always loved Craig David and wanted to give this a try. It was really great reading the first 100 pages (or so) of the book, it brought back a lot of nostalgia of the noughties.

In an attempt to not give too much away – because I recommend getting this book – I want to touch on some key moments he shared. With no place for feelings of insecurity, he learned to push them down, building a reputation as the man who always had a smile on his face.I am now in a place where I’ve learned to have good vibes, to be true to myself, but it hasn’t always been this way. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and admire the way he talks about his mental health and the struggles he has faced, including being bullied at school. From what I could comprehend, it was a nice move to make to reset oneself and get away from that drama for a while, not to mention adding a new vibe to his music. Further, David explained that he felt compelled to share the ways he’s dealt with what life has thrown his way, in hopes that it might help readers in some way.

It was a partial biography from Craig in that he briefly described how his career came to be, but this book focuses a lot on how he has had to learn to manage his own feelings when things don't always go to plan.Bad Boy Records CEO Sean Combs, after hearing his demo tape, reached out to Craig with interest in signing him as an artist. I looked at one of these videos and found myself, after seeing a fair number of comments, to be in a small majority who didn’t find this at all funny. Craig's first album was definitely hard to beat and his second, 'Slicker Than Your Average', was released in 2002. Please Note: By their very nature, all signed books will have been handled several times before they get to you. In opening up about how he overcame these obstacles, Craig shares his insight and provides practical advice that will help us to navigate the daily challenges we all face.

Craig burst onto the music scene in the late 90's working as a vocalist on Artful Dodger's 'Something' and 'What Ya Gonna Do'. The video showed the singer getting emotional as he took the book out of the box and looked at the quotes on the back, from the likes of Social Chain founder Steven Bartlett, TV presenter Fearne Cotton, and author Sonia Choquette. I found it really interesting of how life was like before his major hit of Rewind - That I had no idea he had even wrote. It’s a series of lessons that I’ve learnt over the years that have helped shape who I am today,” he continued. In September 2016, he dropped his long-awaited comeback album 'Following My Intuition' and it was his first album to hit Number 1 since his debut 'Born To Do It'. As this book progresses it becomes less about Craig David’s experiences, life and feelings and more of a preachy sermon full of basic cliches to live your best life.
