About this deal

Ray Charles might have opted to kick off his 1985 Christmas record with the downbeat "What Child Is This," but the album itself is a soaring and poignant offering from a man who, in his mid-50s at the time, was still very much enjoying the height of his grip on music and culture. K. hit "One Christmas Catalogue," a sublime synth-rock evocation of all the ways we use the holiday to mark time – for better or worse. The Voice has made Cee Lo Green America's favorite smiling funk mystic, so this lovable record is a no-brainer. a compilation released in May 2000 of songs from current and famous TV adverts which was released just days after the "100 Greatest TV Ads" poll from Channel 4 and The Sunday Times aired on the former.

Irving Berlin, the author of "White Christmas," was so scandalized by Elvis's 1957 version of the song that he tried to get it banned from radio. For a lot of people, it's not Christmas until Ol' Blue Eyes is singing, and that is certainly true when one considers the legacy of Frank Sinatra's first Christmas record. For CDs Grading does not include Jewel case as these are replaceable - however any badly damaged Jewel cases will be replaced. Following the success of Volume 2, Volumes 1 and 2 were compiled into a box set, released in the same original CD boxes, but a slipcase had been placed over them displaying new artwork. The moves may be in no way authentic, but it’s a good workout – a pre-emptive strike on the traditional stone gained over the festive season. It offered a third alternative to the Now Dance series, with the other alternative being The Best Dance Album series. With her sweeping and gentle takes on Christmas classics as well as her own originals, Jones combines the nostalgic sentiment expressed in much of her music with a certain holiday glow on a record to which you can kiss or cry.

Seven decades later, his vocal style remains the template for elegant ease and stately sentimentality. The first, and best, of Elvis’s seasonal offerings, made when Presley was still within touching distance of his early, raw rockabilly years: listen to the intense, bluesy opener, Santa Claus Is Back in Town, for proof. But, of course, the best tracks are solo Crosby, pouring vocal butter on "Silver Bells" or "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and making them unforgettably his own.

The 1999 reissue on Spotify ends with a country-tinged, Vietnam-era lament from Gaye, "I Want to Come Home for Christmas," that offers a fascinating spin on Motown's integrationist spirit. The high point is the finger-poppin' "Christmas Night in Harlem," when he growls, "Everyone's gonna sit up til after 3/ Everyone, we be all lit up, like a Christmas tree," and throws in a big, winking belly laugh for party-boss punctuation. Either way, the Brooklyn indie-pop songster's five-EP set is one of the more imaginative revisionist Christmas records. Christmastime brings people together almost as well as music, which means holiday tunes are essentially at the crux of spreading cheer for all to hear. Most of the album is made up of the standard Christmas hits listeners expect, such as "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" and "Frosty the Snowman," while Nelson's own version of the title track remains socially aware all these decades later.

Bob Dylan might not be the first musician the holiday season brings to mind, but Christmas in the Heart still delivers the Christmas spirit with a side of surreality. You might expect gleeful schlock from film director John Waters, and there’s plenty of it here – singing kids, the Chipmunks, Rudolph and the Gang’s sweary Here Comes Fatty Claus – but the genius of A John Waters Christmas is how he mixes the weirdness and laughs with sheer loveliness, as on Stormy Weather’s doo-wop Christmas Time Is Coming.Hilariously, they choose only the most Jesus-y tunes to bash out in their vaunted flat-lined power-pop style. It opens with an exclusive version of the Queen song " Tie Your Mother Down" subtitled "(Air Guitar Edit)", which features a different intro (a snippet of the song " We Will Rock You") than the original version (which was sometimes credited separately from the song). That doesn't mean, however, that newer holiday contributions haven't cropped up, some of which have real staying power.

Brown reliably delivers just as much rhythm and soul on his own holiday songs as on his most beloved evergreen hits, making James Brown's Funky Christmas a lively choice for any feel-good holiday get-together, even your work party. is a compilation album brand from Circa Records (trading under the ' strategic marketing' brand name of EMI Records/ Virgin Records).
