About this deal

I was thrilled when I heard a second Confessions book was written and delighted to be approved by NetGalley to read and review! ALEXANDRA POTTER is the bestselling author of numerous bestselling novels, including CONFESSIONS OF A FORTY-SOMETHING F**K UP which is now the basis of a major TV series. Nell reaches out to her great friend Cricket as well as her eclectic group of narried friends, all offering their own thoughts. Getting married when you’re older is always more difficult because you both carry baggage: kids, ex’s, memories, expectations and disappointments as well as ‘stuff’ – far too much stuff for two people to fit into one house! Nell is still enjoying writing obituaries, Cricket is still Cricket and Arthur still sounds like a lovely pooch.

She does have a bit of a history, not all of which she has shared with Nell, and it’s her life experience which prompts her to offer wise advice. Is organizing a wedding as simple as ‘drinking champers with my friends, trying on gorgeous dresses, picking out beautiful flowers and laughing with gay abandon’, or is it spreadsheets, budgets, mothers and trying not to offend absolutely everyone? Yorkshire born and raised, Alexandra lived for several years in LA before settling in London with her Californian husband and their Bosnian rescue dog. Whilst sharing the flat with not only Edward and their dog, but also his two teenage sons, a surprise pregnancy test throws Nells World into a spin. I’ve been a fan of Alexandra Potter’s for years now but have absolutely loved her last few novels, including the first Confessions book and One Good Thing. Yorkshire born and raised, Alex currently lives in South-West London with Mr California and their Bosnian rescue dog and when she's not spending time writing or travelling, she's spending far too much time on Instagram being reminded that she should be exercising regularly, drinking enough water, practising mindfulness and feeling blessed.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series , I have to say this was an even better and funnier read. Forget a face cream, fall in love’ and ‘books are heavy because they carry the weight of our imaginations’. In this book the pair decide not just to help each other but through their column in a newspaper magazine they’re sharing their experience, humour and common sense with the world in general.Join her for more laugh-out-loud lessons to be learned, truths to be told, adventures to go on and joys to discover. I doubt there are many who could answer in the affirmative but that’s what makes it such a big adventure. It showcases the joy of inter generational relationships and explores loss grief and joy in a gentle but informative way. Even when life appears to be going well, there’s always things to be grateful for as well as those sent to try us.
