About this deal

Holly ini juga jadi bahan utama si tengkorak yang lagi hobby jodoh-jodohin Lucy sama Lockwood buat godain Lucy. Now, every night at midnight, people who can see ghosts—in other words, Children—feel a terrible, frightening presence and see bloody footprints appearing on the stairs. Stroud builds on the previous two titles, deepening the development of our cast, while offering the expected thrilling action scenes, spine-tingling moments, and of course the humour and snark. As a fellow XX who is not manicured and perfectly dressed all the time (okay, ever), I can sympathize with Holly's annoyance with someone who looks good even beaten up and has inserted herself into a previously cozy trio, but not so much the jealousy over Lockwood (enigmatic, dashing, slightly broken, and also with good hair). He loves making grotesque faces at Holly, but Holly is not aware it is a Type 3 ghost that Lucy communicates with.

When the bullets hit the float—ghosts appear and begin moving toward the people, but only agents can see this. Secrets followed Lockwood about like the flapping of his coat, and it was nice to be close enough to feel them brush against me too. More on the competition: That last big conversation Lucy and Holly have, where Stroud tries to show Holly's side and to paint her behavior as rational, does real disservice to the portrayal of Lucy's insight. After all she’s done and how close she sometimes feels to Lockwood, it still seems Holly Munro is the shining star. I’m telling you, when I was listening to it (audiobook-ed it), I was getting goosebumps at certain parts, it’s very properly scary. Lockwood is still tall and brooding (though one of his secrets has been revealed, which Lucy finds very encouraging), Lucy is still impetuous and brilliant, and George still prefers biscuits and the library to anything involving real danger.

Favorite Quote: "It was a funny thing about being an agent, something Lockwood had once said: you were admired and loathed in equal measure. There is a new spirit of openness in the team now that Lockwood has shared some of his childhood secrets, and Lucy is feeling more and more as if her true home is at Portland Row. But it’s also properly hilarious (that skull man, that skull doesn’t stop) and the ending will make you scream (in protest). The author does constant, small synthesis of important parts of the stories that appear in the previous books, but it's cooler to read them!I really enjoyed it so much that I hope there will be yet another book soon to follow in this fabulously told series. Even though the emotions elicited weren't all positive, this book definitely evoked a strong emotional response to the characters and what was happening to them.
