About this deal

The album features the singles 'Praying for Time', 'Freedom '90', 'Waiting for That Day', 'Heal the Pain', 'Cowboy and Angels' and 'Soul Free'. Absolutely love this album, but I can't get over the way it sounds on the more acoustic tracks – I don't think it's an issue with the pressing, it's something more fundamental about how they were produced and mixed. I could deal with the warping but the fact that it skips right in the chorus of “Freedom 90” is unforgivable. George’s Michael’s glittering career spanned four decades and he sold over 115 million albums worldwide, amassing a series of Number 1 singles and albums, including Faith and Listen Without Prejudice Vol.

George's vocals have a weird echo and a huge trail of reverb applied to them that removes so much definition and presence without really creating any space or depth in the way I imagine it was meant to. A huge loss to musical entertainment and the world in general, a fascinating, interesting character who had so much love to give and a huge heart. EX (Excellent): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. It works on the beautiful Cowboys and Angels (and you can tell on that song that there's nothing wrong with the bass response), but other parts of the album sound kind of.Additionally there seems to be an unusually large build up of static - not sure if this is the composition of the vinyl or the inner sleeve or a combination of the two. In the late 80s/early 90s my girlfriend at the time was a huge George Michael/Wham fan and we used to take it in turns playing cassettes in the car. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). It sounds brilliant on vinyl and I've been blasting that track out to the annoyance of my wife and son for the last few days. However, his legacy is there and this album particularly showcases his fantastic songwriting ability and musicianship. Again, as a new old listener I am just amazed this came out in 1990, with much of it recorded in 1989. The music is amazing as expected and the vinyl pressing is very good however my copy was dirty straight out of the packaging; covered in a gritty white dust and a a bunch of smears on both the edge and label parts of the vinyl. Maybe I should listen to another version just to check it isn't my copy – is there one that people would recommend if I don't like the UK original? We are available to book for live shows and events, as well as bespoke licensed music for videos, commercials, TV, film and more.Powerful lyrical content and sparse but devastatingly effective arrangements make this probably my second 'go to' GM LP. I was in my mid-teens when this came out and only heard a couple of the tracks, both of them the Funky Drummer songs.
