About this deal

Despite this, there is one significant problem I have so far, and unfortunately it lies on the shoulders of McNeill. The Warhammer 40K books have surprised me with their efforts at characterisation, however they tend to waffle around without a driver. In summary: this is a satisfying completion to what I think is the first arc of this story: the great heresy against the Emperor of Man. Loken and Torgaddon were amazing as usual, and that duel at the end brought quite the tear(s) to my eye(s)! It's an annoying way of doing it and I kind of feel this might be where the Witcher TV series got its idea for the amount of stupid time jumps.

Though the rebels are swiftly crushed, Horus's treachery is finally revealed when the planet is razed by virus bombs and Space Marines turn on their battle-brothers in the most bitter struggle imaginable. What you get is something that feels like a big jump in motivations from False Gods that isn’t fleshed out in Galaxy in Flames. With neither truly comprehending the rashness of their decision, or the reason for acting on it, they spent almost 16 months Terran standard, jumping from system to system to reach terra.Ben was stuck with a story to tell where there is one piece left of the puzzle - that is a lot of death.

The problem I have is that there's a difference between Horus distrusting the Emperor (or even believing him to evil), and Horus becoming the person he very soon becomes. The one-year time gap before this book must be one of the most unfortunate narrative choices in the sci-fi genre. But when the fleeing Eisenstein is damaged by enemy fire, it becomes stranded in the warp - the realm of the Dark Powers. An assault force containing elements of all four legions chosen by Horus and including Garviel Loken, Tarik Torgaddon and Lucius descends on Isstvan III's capital city and battle breaks out. The following information is not to be regarded as officially sanctioned and/ or is not written from an in-universe point of view.

However, in Galaxy in Flames Horus has gone from a warrior looking to reduce bloodshed to one who wants to see the Imperium burn. Horus and his brothers make haste to Istvaan III under the guise of pacifying an uprising to cull their legions of any deserters. He had a start point (where McNeill left off) and a definite end point - and little choice in how he represented the events in between.

While not a bad thing, I think that this should not have been focused on one singular Legion, but had focused on the other Legions who fought and bled during the battle. If a refund or reimbursement is payable to you, we will transfer the money using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. An unprecedented alliance between the Sons of Horus, Death Guard, World Eaters and Emperor' Children Legions seems more than capable of overwhelming the paltry mortal defences - indeed, such a display of force seems unneccesary?

On the eve of victory, the Emperor leaves the front lines, entrusting the great crusade to his favorite son, Horus. Even though i feel the VIIth legion is not one to embellish themselves in pomp and finery like the Emperors Children or the Blood Angels, I did decide to add a cloak to my praetor but kept it demure and simple. Suddenly boxed into a small room, they have a choice to stay and see what Horus has planned for the Rememberancers, or they can flee and try to get word to those who can do something about Horus's betrayal. After not having read this for a fair few years, and reading quite a few other amazing novels in the meantime, this is still a thoroughly enjoyable novel.Honour and pride had filled Artuas' heart the day he had been selected from the mass of noviates stationed in the training camps on Terra, to be elevated to full Astartes. There's this guy Horus and he's been corrupted by the Dark Gods of Chaos and now he's plotting against his father the Emperor, but some of the people in his fleet are kind of weirded out by the entire human sacrifice thing and are like "What the hell? Having made a miraculous recovery from the grevious injuries he suffered on Davin, Warmaster Horus now leads the triumphant Imperial forces against the rebel world of Isstvan III.
