About this deal

Sometimes it would smear and sometimes not making me think it was the application that was the cause but it also did it on a test print. That's better than most rivals, and low-volume users will probably not get to replacing the last two before wanting a more modern replacement - 100 packets is a lot of paper!

Automatic firmware updates which can be done from the touch screen panel make staying up-to-date buttery smooth. The DCP-L3550CDW has been engineered to print up to 18 pages per minute at under 47dB - quieter than your daily office conversation. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Mating it to my router was almost painless and used the WPS option; it needed a second try and mated on that. Dropping the computer I was using to set up down to non-5G solved the problem and it works fine after putting the computer back onto the faster connection.

This laser jet was great until not many prints later it started to show smearing of inks on the page (not unlike the inkjet) and there was a squeaking which developed. Curiously, it cost only 10 more at the time of writing, leaving us wondering why we would choose the DCP-L3550CDW, capable though it is. In summary, the Brother DCP-L3550CDW Color Laser Printer stands out as a reliable workhorse for any home office. I eventually figured out that the problem was that my home network is configured with 5G and non-5G components and that the printer was getting confused between the two at set up.Up to 2,400 dpi print resolution produces high quality documents, while scanning and copying covers all the functions of the office.
