About this deal

The cups are soft and fold down easily for use with my eyeglasses, or leave them up with my glasses off. Superb quality, high power binoculars with 15x magnification and Canon precision optics featuring an Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens element to reduce chromatic aberration and the Super Spectra lens coating that delivers vivid, high contrast view with accurate colours. My only complaint is that the eye cups are quite wide so for me they sre pressed hard against my nose when using them. You might just notice a faint jitter of the view and slight changes in the focus that I didn’t find too troublesome.

If you are in the market for a quality pair of high powered binoculars that are simply a joy to use - try out these Canon 15 x 50s. The Bino Bandit worked well, although the shape of the eyepieces on the bino means the Bandit wants to migrate back toward the bino body.

I got to try that pair right after it came back from Canon from service, where they had determined that it was up to spec and working fine. A single-activation button located precisely where the right forefinger naturally rests makes using them easy and allows you to concentrate on viewing without distractions. If you are reasonably steady on a star cluster, say, you push the button once (don't have to hold it down) and in a second or two it stabilizes and stars pop into view that you couldn't see otherwise. You will be offered the best rate available based on your credit history and the lenders' credit decision policies.

I might add that I have corresponded with Roger and he is very generous with answering questions if you need something not covered in his reviews. While it certainly wasn't a game-breaker for me, it was easier to see in the 18x when I went looking for it.I think this is because one has to apply more force compared to plain binoculars to achieve a good grip on the fat oval body with slippery smooth plastic. Interestingly they do come with a built-in tripod adapter and you could use them without the image stabilization feature.

I used it all afternoon to look at birds around my lawn and passing aircraft as I only live about 5 miles from an airport and the traffic is often routed over my neighborhood. Right-eye dioptric correction, twist-up eyecups, and a wide interpupillary adjustment range rounds out the features of these binoculars that will become your go-to optic for any outdoor activity. Not everyone prefers the 15x to the 18x like I do, and you will find both preferences from users in this forum.Welcome to BirdForum, the internet's largest birding community with thousands of members from all over the world. I've got limited experience for comparisons but the greatest benefit if you have like-for-like lens and build quality is the ability to use the higher magnification without a tripod/monopod. I tried a few dimmer NGC clusters, but the light pollution in my backyard was a limiting factor, so I stuck with the brighter Messier clusters for the most part. The exit pupil is the small circle of light you see when you hold the binoculars at arm's length and look through the eyepieces.

Albireo (STFA 43 AB) – I have resolved this showcase, yellow-blue pair with binoculars many times but never with such finesse. I never understand why Canon wouldn't just use the better eyecups from the 10x42 L IS throughout their IS range. This is the largest aperture available in image stabilized format, which makes it attractive for people in light polluted locations or those who like to push deeper with hand-hold binoculars.Their shake-free performance not only enhances your ability to view fine detail but also reduces eye strain and fatigue. maybe an invidual one from Nikon, Hasselblad, Zeiss-Ikon,etc, may be slightly better for a given focal length, but as a full line, they seem to be the tops (and real trendsetters as well). I have also used a pair of Russian made image stabilised binos and they gave me the impression that the floor was falling away under me.
