About this deal

Between the colourful World tiles (on both sides), and the super pretty Tree tokens, it has great table presence. Most of the numbers on the World tiles are on a dark background, but a few are on a light background. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. This is, again, where I think NMBR9 had some good ideas, though I think I like this game a bit better because of the tree tokens.

I would highly suggest it for teachers looking for quick games to implement for classrooms or board game clubs. Everyone getting the same loadout usually means unless someone messes up, the scores will be pretty similar. If you’re cool with multiplayer solitaire and you like tile-laying games (or forests), Legendary Forests might be right up your alley! If you enjoy tile placement games but want to up the ante and strategy then try Azul, or for a game that involves more elements alongside tile placing, the incredible Isle of Cats.

Legendary Forests is a game of tile placement in which you will grow lush new planets of trees and flowers. Each player has the same numbered World tiles, and play them at the same time on their individual planet to create color and Rune match-ups.

After the construction round, the token moves to the left with the next player starting the next construction round.

Example: In this example, the Tree token in the Closed L-shaped Pink Zone scores 8 victory points (4x2), because it has 4 Full- Runes. Legendary Forests is a light tile placement game where players are given identical tiles and must compete to create a high scoring forest by placing tiles and scoring cards in the best possible way.

The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. The two Yellow tokens in the Yellow Zone in the lower right corner only count as one token because they are in the same Zone.

It would be nice if the five start tiles were all different so that couldn’t happen, but I understand that might mess with balancing. Light on Strategy Needed for the Win – Individual tile placement is key and one can keep track of the tiles not yet drawn to understand how best to place the current tile. From Monopoly and Clue at the cottage to Euchre tournaments with the family, tabletop games have taken up a lot of his free time.

In this case, after tiles have been placed in the turn, each player selects a tree token to place on a corresponding colored forest area. Choosing tree tokens well is important so that you don’t find yourself needing a color that has run out. Then the "leader" of the round draws, says its number, and each player places its corresponding tile on its landscape.

That’s not really strategic, unless you’re going to try to argue that they should have planned ahead better. Join the community and come discuss games like Codenames, Wingspan, Brass, and all your other favorite games! To that end, maybe don’t attach that four-way tile to an area you want completed in the last three turns of the game? That’s not a good thing to be unsure about if you want to win the game, so make sure you’re doing a better job of tracking that when you play than I’ve done in the past.
