About this deal

With it’s great value and grip section, enabling fatigue-free writing the Perkeo is perfect for those looking for their first fountain pen or are in need of a work pen to get the job done. It is the DNA in the cap with it’s octagonal shape with facets that look like they have been sanded down leaving the curved ends behind. It is also a medium that is very much serendipity led and the beauty of the final outcomes are often dictated by this. My techniques epitomise the whole ethos of ‘less is more’ and demonstrate how much one can achieve using very little. Each pen is hand assembled in Nuremberg, Germany to,"create a beloved and loyal companion in everyday life even after years.

Clear section and feed add to the looks, as does the clear converter and barrel as the ink level drops. The cap is a snap fit, which is nice and convenient but I found the feel on closing to be a bit… imprecise. It is not quite as aggressive as on a Lamy Safari/Al-Star or Pelikan Pelikano, however if you do not get on with these pens then this Kaweco might not be for you.And this makes sense as the Perkeo is a fairly recent contemporary pen design from Kaweco which exudes youthfulness and enthusiasm. There is no clip but then how many school kids these days have to wear blazers, almost certainly this pen will be left on a desk, in a pen cup or carried in a pen/pencil case. The ergonomic finger grip is designed to fit into your hand just so, and the pen is finished off with a black steel nib in fine or medium point.

Constructed from durable injection moulded plastic, this lightweight fountain pen features an ergonomic grip section and sturdy stainless steel nib, making a great pen for young and old alike. This Kaweco Collection edition is a powerful red, which moves along the spectrum from pink to orange, depending on how you view it. In Kaweco's historical records, the PERKEO model can be found as early as 1900, in the form of an eye- dropper, in a catalogue of the Heidelberger Federhalterfabrik (dip pen factory). I have a pair of these which perform well and are comfortable although I have mixed feelings about the look.
