This is important as a child may need to revisit correct lip and tongue placement when sucking liquid from a longer straw. You can even offer them the Mini Spoon, too, since the skill of scooping matures around 11-18 months of age!Since the Mini Cup has similar features to the Tiny Cup, this helps your toddler meet this developmental stage. The developmental drinking system starts with the 2oz Tiny Cup (4 months +), followed by the 4oz Mini Cup + Straw (9 months +) and concludes with the 8oz Happy Cup + Straw (2 years +). The ezpz Mini Cup + Straw Training System teaches toddlers to drink from an open cup and safely learn to use a straw.Learning to drink from a straw is an important developmental milestone that develops lip rounding and promotes speech development. The ideal product progression is for your child to start their open cup training with the Tiny Cup and, once they master this skill and/or need more ounces at mealtime, they then move to the Mini Cup. They've also made the commitment to reduce use of domestic air freight and using rail instead to get parcels round the country. The larger cup is critical as older toddlers / preschoolers are consuming more liquids during snack + mealtime. I usually fill the Mini cup with 3 ½ oz of water (or milk) at meals and will give them more (if requested) after mealtime.
