About this deal

Dell's new dock has an interesting innovation to make it compatible with both USB Type-C and old-fashioned USB 3.

You’ll be able to connect up to three 4K displays and charge a USB-C laptop up to 65W simultaneously. The Dell D6000 docking station is designed to be compatible with a wide range of laptops, including both Dell and non-Dell models, as long as they meet the connectivity requirements. NOTE: For optimal performance, Dell recommends updating the BIOS and Chipset driver on your PC before installing the DisplayLink driver for the docking station.

Also, the DisplayLink solution does not support UMA-GFx card switching resulting in not being able to take advantage of GFx hardware acceleration.

You can change how Windows detects the wireless connection when docked to a LAN connection using the instructions in the Dell knowledge-base article How to disable a wireless network connection when a wired connection is detected . In this scenario, the second monitor behavior is not controlled by the Dell Universal Dock D6000, it just duplicates the video signal from the first display. Smooth, Seamless and Secure manageabilityWork without disruptions utilizing a single firmware on our most manageable docks ever. As the Dell Universal Dock D6000 is originally designed for use with any laptops that support industry standard USB Type-C, and for use in a hoteling/hot-desk environment, Dell-on-Dell features are not currently offered. Enjoy universal compatibility with a wide range of PC brands and operating systems, supported by DisplayLink technology.
