Freya was a great lead character with vulnerabilities everyone can relate to, her character showed so much growth. In about 20% of the book, we're informed about this diagnosis, Mac leaves London and Freya, his game suffers, his grandad dies and Mac reconciles with Freya again and HEA.

It’s so weird because I never felt that way in any of this author’s other books, but for some reason all of the slang and expressions were clunky and kind of misused. Mac is a tall, tatted, and built Scotsman who plays football for a living, there's no way he would be interested. Overall, I think I would have enjoyed this book more in audio format because I tend to like light-hearted long books in audio.

It was like things weren't angsty enough, so the author decided to kill someone for a little tragedy. Its so funny reading a book with a Scottish character because I rarely find them and as a proud Scottish woman myself it's a real treat to read. I truly wanted to start a new series with no background, but it was annoying getting introduced to other characters and see who they married and who had kids and how they are all friends. She’s plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered.
