About this deal

Jest tu sporo ciałopozytywności, dużo o pozbywaniu się nawyku piorytetyzowania w naszym życiu potrzeb innych, sporo o konsensualności praktyk seksualnych i prawach reprodukcyjnych itd. I'm never going to be that person who will find my inner light or believe in mercury retrograde or the universe making things happen. My only real critic of this book is that I personally don't like a lot of the spells they have written. This book has a slightly liberal and feminist slant, so if you have issues with those concepts then you may not like the author's opinions.

It goes to show that our witchy ancestors were actually very smart women who led fulfilling lives and were not plagued by their inner demons. Although it does add a sentence here and there to say that you can wear what you want and look how you want it is geared towards a certain aesthetic and I feel maybe people who dont want to present themselves that way may not feel as welcomed by this book as others. Oh, also, there's an emphasis on consent, but then follows it up in the next chapter talking about how the author had a sex spell cast on her marriage (so her and her spouse), but didn't inform her husband. I had my eyes on this book for some time and I knew I wasn’t going to like it but I gave it a chance.

This is dabbling, plain and simple, and the authors were right to reference The Craft in this book as a way to discuss the ‘trendiness’ of modern day witchcraft. There is a little bit of the history behind witches, which is always interesting to me to read about. Thankfully, this book offers another solution in the form of a spell for personal demon exorcism that promises to help you weaken and eventually evict unwelcome mental guests. I bought this book 1) because I wanted to get an introduction to modern witchcraft and 2) for the pretty cover.

Instead of giving you sound advice on how to make the most of a stressful situation, like writing down all of the questions and concerns you have in advance and taking the list with you.I am not a fan of motivational books but this one hooked me to read it because of feminine theme and nice illustrations. HelloGiggles“With humor, heart, and a hip sensibility, Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman dispense witchy wisdom for the curious, the cynical, and anyone who could use a magical boost. I haven’t had too many major health scares in my life, but I have loads of chronic problems that are mild enough that they’re (usually) not debilitating, but very annoying and seemingly impossible to get rid of. Doch gerade die Abwesehenheit von religiöser (Pseudo)-Spiritualität spricht mich bei diesem Buch an.

For us lazy witches, or maybe busy witches who don't have time for long, drawn out magic rituals, this does a great job at conveying the message that powerful magic can be short and affordable. This method of physical and mental alignment harkens to how incorporating long-term goals into your daily routine helps you to become your best self. Overall, if you are looking for a fun and different self help book, or want to dabble in witchcraft without going full on Wiccan, then definitely check this book out. This is followed up with a few “kitchen witchery” recipes that involve infusing food with intention, which I think are great!Basic Witches: How to Summon Success, Banish Drama, and Raise Hell with Your Coven by Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman is a guidebook to embracing your inner witch and living your life to the fullest.
