While we Americans like to think we invented pie, it did not originate with the pilgrims, though we agree, it was an inspired notion to bake the pie as a peace offering and create a holiday centered around it! Out of the seven episodes, my favorite is the last one, a celebration of all the pies people made after watching my videos. There is usually something, even with the most unlikeable of characters – family, loyalty to something, strength in character or music; whatever it might be that you are able identify and connect with.add value for the the other person in the communication, as together they give reassurance that they are being listened to and heard.

My one criticism of the book is that Munsch's drawings of the Asian Canadian characters isn't that flattering. It is perfect sitting at the coal fire on a cold day looking across the bay and even better if the weather is sunny when you can get a seat outside in the beer garden. I would in class use this book for Pi day, and use this book on the idea of overeating, greed and foods from all around the world.
