Schools can become really strong only by fostering a professional community of practice among their educators – no quick-fix governance model, instructional technique or technology can substitute for this. A Learner Conversation is a shared discussion, that supports both staff and pupils, to ensure the learner knows how to progress their learning, to achieve their potential. We will continue to support and develop the Leadership Pathway to ensure we build capacity and capability to support the success of all learners.

These sessions are designed to embolden young creativity through shared activities and extended learning within a particular subject. Transition specialists visit local Primary schools to meet with Year 6 students, sharing stories with learners, providing opportunities to be listened to and discuss their thoughts further.At Key Stage 3, not all subjects will set extended Learning activities as it has been deemed more appropriate for students to attend extra-curricular activities within these department areas. The most common definition of children with high learning potential is those individuals with cognitive abilities in the top 2-5% of the population. We never tell our students they cannot achieve; it is just they are not doing it yet, but with practice and perseverance it will happen. Engineered in Year 5 and Year 6, our secondary school 'Launch Pad' is our 'Primary Arts Outreach programme' and also, 'A Centre of Excellence for the Arts'. Not all pupils with an identified additional support need may require timetabled support but have a Pupil Profile detailing classroom strategies and possible assessment arrangements. We will continue to work in social partnership to improve the deployment of teaching assistants, training and professional development, and greater consistency in pay which reflects these important roles.

No school can be allowed to consistently underperform within a self-improving system that sets high standards and aspirations for all. Breaking down barriers so that excellent education opportunities and outcomes can be achieved by all learners, at all ages, in classrooms, online, and in work.Effective feedback tends to focus on the task, subject and self-regulation strategies: it provides specific information on how to improve. We will continue to support the Cymraeg for Kids programme and implement our National policy on Welsh language transmission and use in families.
