The story of how the Brompton came about – from a sketched idea by engineer and Brompton founder Andrew Ritchie, to a bike with major sales throughout the world today. This earlier work is very much aimed at Brompton riders who also want to know about the product development of their machine. That makes him well suited for being enthusiastic about his business and explaining his decisions – as well as co-writing a book about it. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. A few pages of colour are supplemented with numerous black and white ones, and I suspect that many of the latter could have been in colour – larger would have been good, too, because it's often hard to make out any detail. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. It also details how you can modify and convert your Brompton for such uses as child carrying and tackling hilly country and acts as a unique maintenance and repair manual, full of tips you won't find in any standard bike repair book. It’s highly-strung and needs to be cosetted, but it will do whatever you ask if it likes you, and trusts you.

Much stronger than Giant’s own Lafree sprocket, which is no longer available, our replacement sprockets are made in England by Talon Engineering. Contrast this with less than a page given over to the life-changing event in Brompton Bicycle, where it was felt there had been a 'smooth transfer of power' – because that book has an entirely different focus, and is complementary rather than in competition.
