I enjoyed this book and although my teenagers haven’t read it yet I know they’ll like the interactive experiments which are interspersed through the pages. Because of its inherent complexity, the book bites off a little more than it can chew: but as a way towards non-judgmentally enabling teens and their parents to understand what may be going on during this confusing time, it is a truly excellent way in. This book was first published in 2005 and, I am sure, must have helped a great many young people and their parents and other carers since it first came out. BMB opened my horizon and led to all my later books on stress, resilience, sleep, screens, peer pressure etc but a couple of years ago I realised it needed an upgrade, as the last re-edition dates back to 2013. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you!Other cancelled products: If you want to cancel products that are not damaged or incorrectly supplied, then you must inform us of this within seven working days following the date of receipt in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations or otherwise as soon as possible. This book is about the way your brain changes while you're a teenager and how these changes can account for behaviours such as risk-taking, difficulty going to sleep early and a tendency to react emotionally as opposed to rationally.

Even if centuries/millennia of human females more often having caring or gathering roles and males more often having combative or hunting roles might have created patterns of typical skill-sets, this does not mean that each can’t very easily learn the other set of skills. The book makes no reference to this and just asserts that autism is more likely in boys - a more nuanced explainer would have really helped. No matter who you are or where you come from, this audiobook can help you define success, envision it, and make it happen-in school, in your personal life, and at work. The human brain hasn’t changed in that time – but individual brains adapt according to what they do and experience. This book was recommended to me on separate occasions by a couple of experts on mental health so I decided to read it.

All the reviews in this archive were written by members of the Scattered Authors Society , sharing thoughts and enthusiasms about books and reading and based on their long experience of working with children and visiting schools and libraries . Morgan breaks scientific ideas down into manageable and interesting chunks, and uses a combination images and quizzes to aid her explanations.

This book is an absolute must for anyone with children (pre-teen so that you can prepare ahead and during teen so that you know what's going on)! It is not meant to be read as an excuse for bad behaviour though, rather as a guideline to give support.

spontaneous joy and hilarity (Do I ever laugh as heartily as in a classroom full of adolescent stand up comedians? The strongest part of this piece is the simplification of developmental neuroscience and non-judgmental approach to adolescence. We mainly use Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service for goods which weight less then 2kg, all other goods will be delivered by a Courier. She brings the biology of the brain to the general reader in a way that will not only educate but entertain. The media so often portray adolescence negatively but this book shows you how to approach these years far more positively so that you can really flourish and be in control.
