The resulting whisky is a full-bodied expression of Arran Single Malt combining power, finesse and full of rich vanilla sweetness and bold peppery spice.

This dedication to sustainability and the unique flavors derived from the island's natural resources make Arran whiskies an exceptional representation of island distilling. The Arran Single Malt selected for this cask strength expression was initially matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels for 7 years before being transferred for secondary maturation into smaller Quarter casks also made of the finest American oak for a further 2 years. In 2018, construction started to build a second distillery in Lagg with production of their unique style of peated whisky beginning there in March 2019. It has a spicy, tropical side and simple approachability that makes it a potent whisky experience for both newbies and oldbies alike.On the tongue, I get apricots and pineapple, followed by menthol, followed by black pepper, which carries through to the relatively long finish, complimented by vanilla late in the finish. Quarter casks first came to most whisky fans' attention in 2004 with the release of the Laphroaig Quarter Cask, and they've been cropping up ever since.
