About this deal

The default ice blue or any color selection brings a personalized touch to your monitor and its surroundings. If the colour space is >100% sRGB then the screen can produce a wider colour gamut, often reaching further in to the wider gamut DCI-P3 (commonly used for HDR) and Rec. This blotchy appearance from an angle seems to be more commonly seen on VA panels than other technologies. The Samsung Odyssey G70B has low input lag for a responsive feel with high-frame-rate signals like at 144Hz and 120Hz. We left the LaCie software to calibrate to “max” brightness which would just retain the luminance of whatever brightness we’d set the screen to, and would not in any way try and alter the luminance at the graphics card level, which can reduce contrast ratio.

On the other hand, the LG has an IPS panel with wider viewing angles, making it the better choice for co-op gaming. We didn't notice any of the same flicker issues, but you can still see the same scanline issues with specific test patterns, as seen here. The native FreeSync VRR support works over HDMI and DisplayPort connections, while G-SYNC only works over a DisplayPort connection.

It also has a good HDR color gamut, ensuring it can display a wide range of colors with the latest HDR content.

The LG 27GR95QE-B and the Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T are 1440p, 240Hz gaming monitors with different types of displays. However, it comes at the cost of narrow viewing angles, so if you need to share your screen with someone else, the LG might be a better choice. The Samsung Odyssey G70B has a mediocre contrast ratio, making blacks look gray next to bright objects. Once again, enabling VRR locks the overdrive setting, and if you aren't using VRR, the 'Faster' setting performs the best. The sRGB preset mode offers a reasonable emulation of the sRGB colour space, and you can see from the CIE diagram that the black triangle representing the monitors gamut now more closely matches the sRGB reference triangle. It has a great contrast ratio, resulting in deep blacks in a dark room, and it has okay black uniformity. While the input lag increases with 60Hz signals, it's still low enough for casual gaming, but you'll notice delay with BFI enabled.

Users should be aware that the panel exhibits the off-centre contrast shift which is inherent to the VA pixel structure. The Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T and the Acer Predator XB273U GXbmiipruzx are great monitors that offer amazing gaming features; they also use different panels with different advantages. The Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 S32BG75 is a newer version of the Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T, and both monitors are very different. The G7 has better motion handling because it has quicker response times and less overshoot on the 'Standard' overdrive setting than the Neo G9. It is smooth and quite easy to move here, but we’d question whether anyone would ever really want to use it. Since the contrast measurements are quite a bit higher than Samsung's advertised 2500:1 contrast for this display, we remeasured the contrast ratio.

However, the Samsung is better for different uses because it doesn't have the same risk of permanent burn-in, and its text clarity is also better. For PC connectivity the DisplayPort is the most common option, with HDMI being available then for connecting external games consoles or Blu-ray players potentially. As the recommended overdrive setting is 'Standard', you won't have to adjust the overdrive setting if the frame rate of your game drops. They both have curved VA panels with a 1440p resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, and we even noticed similar issues between both monitors, like flickering with VRR enabled or the VRR not working at 60Hz. The G7 also gets significantly brighter and has a significantly better response time, resulting in clearer motion with almost no noticeable blur behind fast-moving objects. The Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T is a much better gaming monitor than its predecessor, the Samsung CHG70.
