The controls consist of two buttons at left top of the unit that are difficult to find by touch even without gloves, especially when lamp is on. I worry about losing the removable rubber pad/bung that has to be taken off for charging, and it's a shame it uses a different type of USB cable from all my other devices. There's a tiny LED on the side of the light that will glow a steady purple when the battery level is low. For secure and versatile mounting, the Cerberus rear light comes with a range of O-rings and rubber pad that makes it easy to attach the light to most seatposts, your panniers, rucksack and more.

It’s not perfect though; the hinged mounting wings could be better positioned to improve stability and the rubber pad could do with a permanent fixing to keep it attached to the light. Although I've complained about how I might lose the rubber bung or the USB-C cable, I am giving the Moon Cerberus a score of 'Exceptional' because the amazing side visibility it supplies is so much more important. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.However, four years since its launch, the Cerberus is no longer so unique; there are plenty of other lights offering side visibility now.

The Moon Cerberus has a three-sided COB (chip on board) design that supplies outstanding side visibility, an innovative hinge system that makes it compatible with all shapes of seatpost, and a dimmer function that allows you to fine-tune your output and battery life. The battery and charging percentage indictors help ensure you leave home or work with plenty of charge. The light operates a memory mode; switch it off in a particular mode and it'll be in the same mode when you switch it on again. I also predict it will be a popular light with time triallists because of its aero shape and the ease with which it fits a bladed seatpost, not to mention the retina-searing day flash mode. The clamp has a clever system whereby two hinged wings make it fit both round-section and bladed seatposts.Please note that some assembly will be required, which we recommend be carried out by an experienced mechanic. For me, the hinged wings could be longer, or placed further down the unit to offer a more stable mount; they sit at one end leaving the other a little less secure.
